C50 Archer First experience

I'm Happy with the Product and the offered price was around 400 Rs less from competitor price.
Estimated delivery was 10 Days which is quite high ( Took 4-5 days for Packaging & start shipping from warehouse )
Now its worth waiting and satisfied with the product.
Compact size dual Pointing Antennas (Quite high compared to Router size ... but flexible to fold different angles)
Able to connect to ACT network seamlessly and utilize full Bandwidth (Previous router had speed issues in wifi 1/3rd max speed and connectivity issues to Internet / VPN) ... now no issues so far with this new router.

Dual band router that works
By Shrey on
Pretty good buy for the price. The dual band While the performance is good, you could face issues with the range resulting in slower speeds if you have a larger home. I have a 2bhk and the router is in the hall and about 50% of the time the speeds are pretty low in my rooms. While I say that I am able to utilise my 100mb/s Plan most of times. Other than the issue with the range sometimes I think this is a very good buy.

Wonderful experience so far. This provides more than enough coverage for a small home or a normal flat / apartment as long as you place it properly in the middle of the house. File transfers in the home network maxes out around 400Mbps( in the 5gig band) so far in my tests. USB file sharing also works seamlessly as long as you are using a Windows laptop/PC. Since it comes with an option to wall mount it saves some space for you too.
Router works fine but Amazon shipped me version 3 which is totally a different model.
By Ashis Banerjeeon
I got a different product than the one pictured in the product details. The one I got is white in color and has 4 antennas but no usb. It came in a big retail TP-Link sealed box and carried the same model number as the mentioned in Amazon. I was totally confused. It looks more like C60 but with one less antenna. However I still went ahead and proceeded with the setup which was a breeze. The router has been stable and giving me full 75 Mbps speed (I have an ACT fibernet lightning connetion) for both 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz when in the same but big living cum dining room. In the smaller bed-rooms the range is still good but the speed for 2.4 GHz drops to around 30 Mbps which is acceptable to me. My 6 year old but expensive dual band Linksys E2500 (N router) is not able to match this speed and range. I did some research and found that TP-Link is calling this new model version 3 of Archer C50. Not sure why Amazon could not have their product page updated with this information. Deducting 2 stars simply for that reason.I am now in a dilemma regarding whether to return this or not. The router does the job fine and the missing usb port is not a big concern but the size is bulky and it looks a bit ugly.
Have order something but received something. You can check ...

Have order something but received something. You can check in the attached pic. Both having the same name but the product delivered to me doesn't have USB port. What is the point in paying extra for that
This router has got two versions. Black with 2antenna with usb port. Another is white with 4 antennas and nonusb port. Spoken to Amazon about it, they are not award. Any one can deliver to you. In my case back model was delivered but after replacement white one came with 4 antennas.White model has better performance than the black one. Both bands are stable and providing good coverage while with black model I had faced frequency issues all the time.U lucky if you receive 4 antennabut version, if usb post doesn't matter to you.See pics
Good for 1500 sq ft with walls.
By Subhash Bon
Works well in 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands giving wireless speed of better than 50mbps (even when the signal strength is only 1 or 2 bars) and wired ethernet speed of 95 mbps (against contracted speed of 100 mbps through ISP YOU Broadband). Am using this router ARCHER C50 in a 1500 sq ft 1st-Floor flat with plenty of brick walls. Am able to receive signals in the basement too (car parking area) even though the slab is thick steel reinforced concrete. Simple to set up and reliable so far. Just a mention of a minor difference from earlier TP Link (and other) routers, the indicator lights remain steady (they do not blink showing transfer of data); for me this was not a deal breaker. 5 Stars.
Not too happy with it's ability to pass through walls
By Sumit Rayon
Received a different version of the same model. But this has 4 antenna so I'm not complaining. Not too happy with it's ability to pass through walls, even the extra antenna don't help. But, apart from one corner of the house, everywhere else it works fine.
