I failed to do much research before buying this Tenda product. Compare it to TPLink TL-MR3420 and the inferiority of this device is obvious. I have used this handicap router for 2 months and here are my genuine observations: Hardware: 1) No Power button on device. 2) Uses a 12V / 1Amp adapter and device heats up. Kill-a-watt shows near 9W+ usage. Energy Hog alert. Software: 3) Wireless Router only mode : No config to specify PPPOE service name. Poorly coded logic that does not reconnect automatically when there is a WAN side PPPOE disconnection. No option to set any auto or manual mode of connectivity. The auto mode is broken. The only way to get reconnected is to reboot the device. 4) Hardcoded AP (aka client ) Isolation with no option to disable it. So cannot share files between wireless LAN client devices with http or sftp is out of question. 5) No option to disable firewall. 6) No option to throttle transmission power. 7) No option to set customize WLAN settings. 8) Date settings list Indian Standard Time (Calcutta/Delhi) as GMT+5.00 , instead of GMT+5.30 . This is a very stupid on QA part that they did not catch it I keep it upgraded to most recent firmware but limitations in firmware exists as is. Contacted Tenda Support six times by email but they are not interested in addressing the issues with firmware/design. They are not standing by their product. Their goal is just one - Just flood market with cheap chinese products and rake in profits. I seriously doubt them carrying a spyware from PLA hackers. Note: This product is not even worth a single star and should be voted to "Router - Hall of Shame".
