USB 3.0 causes network trouble
By Yugal Jindleon
The router has a design flaw with the USB3.0 devices. I've checked online that using USB3.0 devices affect the 2.4ghz signals around it and since I'm using an USB3.0 flash drive as a storage drive on the router, my wifi has been hampered and keeps dropping when the drive in plugged in
Bad Product

This router worked well for 2 months and then the connection started dropping. I bought it for the dual band use. 5.0 GHZ channel works only around 4-5 feet away from the router beyond that the signal is not available. 2.4 GHZ keeps dropping every 10 minutes. Now it has come to a point that the router stops showing any Wi-Fi connection at all, unless restarted. It heats up a lot, so much that it cannot be held with bare hands, once in use, for a few hours.
It looks fancy, but does not have any range or reliability. 'using a repeater is of no use here, since signal dropping completely does not help the cause.
I bought this as an upgrade to my old workhorse Buffalo N150 router, for longer range and dual band. However I have now given up on this router and also on any ASUS's commitment to quality routers. I have fallen back to the old Buffalo Router and being happy with poor signal strength over longer distances but steady connectivity.
This is highly 'not-recommended' for long term use, since this shines only for few weeks before the hardware gives up permanently.
Bad Design

2.4Ghz Wireless Problems on the purchased part and the replacement part. I think the entire series is faulty.
Look no further

This is one of the best mid-range router one can get. Setting up took barely 20 seconds and I was connected. It comes with tons of features and it looks just as lovely as it performs.
With USB 3.0 ports copying is blazing fast. I have connected a 1TB HGST HDD to it and it works like a charm.
It support MFPs even the ones that are not listed as being compatible (at least it worked for me).
Awesome Product and Awesome Delivery Speed

Excellent, top grade home-router, with rock solid performance
By P. Misraon
Excellent router - from the same family which has built the classics like the RT-N66U and the RT-AC66U and 68U...Very easy to configure - with the same user interface as the other higher end ones. Been using others in the same family for a few years now.For regular home usage, this one without external antennae does not make much different usage to the range of the WiFi.The client pre-loaded software can run VPN clients, and allows for setting up multiple SSIDs. The performance is rock solid - does not need rebooting from time to time.A total recommendation, as against the DLink or the Linksys ones.
Technically advanced router

I be been using this router for almost a year now. This is the best. It has option for vpn, smtb, ftp and aicloud. It has download manager as well and being a Linux based router, works as a server for me. Very useful for advanced functionalities.
