Looks premium on picture but very cheaply constructed
By Debdeep Duttaon
The router does what it is supposed to do. But range is nothing to scream about in joy. Very standard range as you would expect. Signal goes down 50% after crossing 2 walls. But my main concern is the very cheap build quality. Didn't expect that from Asus. The LED lights a re barely visible(may be a good thing for some) and most importantly they never blink and always remain steady. This is a major problem for me. If anyone accesses my Wi-fi, I used to get notified by the blinking wifi LEDs while I was using my previous DLink router. No such features here, strange! The router itself is very very small, hence, pressing the power button at the back is a pain. No rubber buffers at the bottom, makes the router move like crazy when I connect the LAN cables to the PC during cable management. It has 4 LAN ports but only 1 LED for all LAN ports, might be an issue to some. Overall, very dissatisfied with the product.

Awesome router!

We have been using this for more than six months without any trouble. It is been placed near the entrance of our home so that we will get the wifi range to our shop also which is been 40 meters away and opposite side of the road. After Installing Asus RT-N12N300 We have terminated the separate LAN Internet connection in our shop. With one ISP, we enjoy net in other premises also! In home, wfi range works pretty well with our HDMI TV dongle and our mobiles detect wifi up to 85 meters with full swing!
awesome product

brand name says it all .. range is not too good.. its almost same as dlink n600 router.. i am using it as a repeater .. its the best in class.. been using it for over a month now and conpletely satisfied with.. if you wanna extend range then book it right away. thank you asus and snapdeal.
Bought it to extend existing wifi. Amazing product.

Using it as a switch and Access point. Does the job perfect. Configuring the device for first use is bit tricky. But once configured, works perfect.
Not satisfied asus rt n12

I am satisfied cos less range not more than 100sqft. But company says 200m to 300m
Just Go For It ... Don't Even Think About TP Link ... The Best Range in WiFi Router !!!
By Ramakrishnan S IYERon
I purchased this Asus RT-N12 D1 Wireless-N300 3-in-1 Router and it has being a blessing. I have 1100 sq. ft. 2 bhk and I placed the router in a corner and I still got decent range across 5 thick walls and one closed door. The router works good along with the Antenna. Only Problem is that the setup takes a while. But, once done, it beats even the best router in business.I was confused between this and TP Link. But, now I am glad I chose this. My Friend has a TP Link and he doesn't get half as good as range as mine. We have similar style house. In fact I have more walls. I Love Asus Brand ... This is my third product from the same Brand !!!
Decent Router

I am using this in AP (access-point) mode in the first floor of my house, wherein it is connected to a ground floor TP-Link router through Finolex CAT-6 cable. The cable run is about 45 meters through regular electrical cable conduits (even though running CAT-6 cable through regular electrical conduits is generally advised against, and is against the building code in some countries). Even under this kind of scenario, with the Asus RT-N12 D1, there is no reduction in broad-band speed whatsoever in the first floor, indicating that a very good EMI & RFI filtering is built into the system. The wifi range of the new access-point is consistently brilliant, and there are now no dead spots anywhere in the upper floor. The new access-point has the same name and password as the ground floor TP-Link router, and so I did not have to change any of the wifi settings of my mobile devices. I was earlier using a wifi repeater of a reputed company make in the upper floor, and its network always showed up with "_EXT" tag, forcing me to create separate wifi settings for it in all my mobile devices. Overall, excellent value for money!
I bought it for 1975. Was worth it then but simply too expensive now
By Shridharon
Now that this costs 3k Rs. (at the time of writing this review), this no longer is value for money. Shell out some extra money and get the AC51U (http://www.amazon.in/Asus-AC51U-Dual-Band-Wireless-Router/dp/B00UJKH0JA/ref=pd_bxgy_147_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1CVWBJWYXDQW2P2EF9CT ) because this is simply not worth it, what with no USB ports. Or even the D-Link (http://www.amazon.in/D-Link-DIR-816-Wireless-AC750-Router/dp/B00PVDF83A/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1459236172&sr=1-4&keywords=d+link+wifi+router ). Or the one with a built-in ADSL modem: http://www.amazon.in/D-Link-DSL-2750U-Wireless-4-Port-Router/dp/B007O7J026/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1459236172&sr=1-2&keywords=d+link+wifi+router because let's face it, most od us have ADSL connections. The ones I mentioned are value for money, but not this one, not anymore anyway. But here's the review: Setup is easy as 1-2-3. Unless you need to clone the MAC address or anything, it's really easy or EZsetup.Note: For those who would like to install DD-WRT, don't buy this. It's pretty complicated.Range is above-average. If you want to get a strong signal above or below the router, simply turn one antenna sideways, parallel to the ground. Here's one note to ALL, no matter which router you buy, DISABLE WPS. WPS is a crappy technology and you can brute-force (read: try all combinations) for it's PIN within a day using the right software. Heck, I even found a mobile app which can hack many WPS-enabled networks. Please listen to me on this one.Looks awesome, too. UI is nice. Simple, with many options yet not cluttered, unlike the UI of some cheap corporate TP-Link and Iball Baton routers. I use it with FTTH, but you can also use it with ASDL (through telephone lines) provided you have the modem.Inside the box is a really short Ethernet cable. It's only there to fill the void when you disconnect the original cable from the computer and plug it into the router. I wish there was a PROPER user manual though. All it comes with is a startup guide.Haven't used it as a Repeater or AP yet.Overall it's nice. But the price hike makes it such a bad deal. I'd suggest you keep searching.

Excellent router. Almost after 6months of usage I am writing this review.PROS:- Coverage is very good. Solid. I live in 2BHK house of 1200sq.ft. I get almost 2-3 bar minimum to the farest corner of my house.- Easy to install- Plugin and forget.- Dont need frequent restartCONS:- Rarely need restarts. Almost after a 2-3 weeks of continuous usage.- Got automatically rebooted once after 5 months of use. All my personalised settings were gone and resetted to factory default. But still its not a big thing, as bringing it back to my personal settings is super easy, if you have backup. In case you don't, redoing it is also not hard as the user interface is very friendly and super easy.Overall its a very good router and value for money.
Serves my home just about right!
By Maulik Shahon
So, I have a house with too much blockage (walls and stuff) between rooms. Earlier I was using a router+booster and yet couldn't get a smooth stable connection despite amazing internet speed. Finally, time for a new router arrived and this Asus router was recommended to me by our local computer solutions guy. He gave this router to me to try it out for a few days, I used it for almost a week without any hitches at all. By now I was sure I wanted this one, all I had to do was come to Flipkart and place an order (ofcourse, because it was way cheaper on this beautiful website!).
The USP of this router are it's humongous antennas that, I guess, does the trick at my home. If you've been facing similar problems at your place, this could be the solution for you too. I haven't had any problems with this one yet, it's almost been a month.
I don't see any downside to this product yet, I have an awesome internet speed and this router provides me with the perfect range for my house!
POOR RANGE
By Rajeev Gargon
Do not get influenced by its long antennas, its range is just as good as
any other dlink or tplink modem cum router available at 1/3 rd cost.
I have been using it since last month and very disappointed with it.
Not a Good Product
By Karthik Vijayon
Hi,
I purchased this product 3 weeks ago, first few days the connectivity was excellent and later from the fourth day the disconnections started. Initially, thought it would be the internet issue, but later turned out to be the router issue.
Anyone facing this issue, please let me know if this issue can be rectified.
Thanks
Superb Range - Updated on 16th July
By Anupam Halderon
Pros:
1. Good Range.
2. Can act as a Repeater( Range Extender)
3. 4 SSID. So at the same time you can create 4 different network.
4. No heating at all. Running since last 7 days non-stop.
5. Simple to Set up
6. 9 DBi Antenna.
Cons:
1. Little Overpriced based on the features.
2. No USB support/ No Printer Support/ No External HDD Support.
3. UI has limited option. Though we have 4 SSID, you can not manage those individually except for setting different password for them.
4. Single Band ( But this is ok based on the price).
So overall It's a very good router with a very good wifi range. Earlier I had to use two routers for my house, now this router alone is enough for my three storied building.
UPDATE:
Hi Guys,
Avoid buying this router. I faced severe WiFi drop issue with this one. After one month I faced Wifi connection drop every 2 hour. After that I have to unplug the power and wait for 5 minutes in order to get WiFi connection again.
Sorry for the late update.
Bad router. Connection drops
By Deno Mathewon
Bought the router from flipkart. As usual excellent service, very fast delivery.
Issues with router:
1. Connection keeps getting dropped. On using wifi analyser, realised that wifi signal just disappears and then comes back after few seconds. I have 2 other wifi router at home. Wifi signal from other router never drops and shows steady signal(already check for interference).
2. Signal range is nothing great. I get the same range that i get with 5dbi Linksys router. Even on increasing the Tx power...there is no increase in wifi signal strength.
Got my router replace with another piece from flipkart. But the 2nd one also has exactly the same problem. Won't recommend this router to others.
As a replacement to an older router
By Jeroenon
Bought this router to replace an older 802.11n router that could not reach the top floor of the house. Tried a powerline adapter, which did work, but due to very frequent powercuts (hello Bangalore!), that was not a reliable option. I now cover the whole house with one wireless access point. Excellent.
excellent range
