Product Feedback : 5 starsPros :1. netbooks-remember those ? in terms of size this is one of them.But a stunner.2. 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz frequencies with up to 1733Mbps and 800Mbps BW respecctively. Useless if you do not have 5Ghz compatible devices.3. The LED light indications can be turned off from the browser based software UI or that nifty click button on the top. Pretty pleasing to the eye.4. Two usb 3.0 ports !!!!! (Say it again-T--W--O--USB 3.0 ports)5. Super silent6. Good Range (considering my 1560 sq ft apartment )( repeater shut off test)7. Gigabit LAN out of the box. This is it !8. Setup is a snap if you know what you are doing. Could be difficult for people to set the advanced settings if they have no clue on networking. Default I think majority of the people will be fine.9. External buttons primarily on the side, so easy reach there. Excellent external button management.10.MU-MIMO (bang !)11.NAS Tx details for a 1GB file write: Wifi LOS : 8 MBPS Wifi non LOS: 3-4 MBPS Wired : 88 MBPS12.Paired very nicely with my TP Link AC repeaters.Cons :1. Glossy black plastic is a major dust and fingerprint magnet. Maintaining that shine is a chore.2. Weird side placement of the usb ports.3. No USB 2.0 ports4. The USB 3.0 ports appear to be not backwards compatible. I tried all of my USB 2.0 storages but none were detected. However a USB 3.0 media (tried with a strontium pen drive) was detected effortlessly.5. I couldn't find a place to configure the jumbo frame size on the gigabit ports.Verdict :1. For amateurs/home users : All you will ever need now or in the future.Actually, save money and get the archer C9 AC 1900.2. Serious work : If you can't get an Asus RT-88u at decent price somewhere online go for this one.3. Gamers : Get the Asus RT-88u or if you can spend, then nighthawk x84. After sales service : yet to see how they provide support. Intend to update this thread if such an experience occurs.5. Should you buy it if you have an AC 1900 router ? - No need.6. Will it solve your life's problems ? -No7. What were my other choices ? Asus 88u and TP Link Archer C3200 (Asus RT-88u was not available anywhere at a decent price and Archer C3200's price was decent but discarded it in favor of the two USB 3.0 ports on the C2600. I have been using the router for a couple of months now and my observations are:1. Good at multitasking - I can watch movies streamed from my mini (LAN) to my TV (wifi) while my MBP (wifi) is doing a time machine backup on WD NAS drive and at the same time have about 3 mobiles connected to the network. Also I am using Netgear DGND as an access point, which in turn connects to apple tv. Have not faced any slow down yet.2. USB performance is good.3. However, range wise, its not much of an improvement over my Netgear DGND3700. I still don't get network in places where DGND3700 failed.4. The antennas are loose and with a small nudge, they collapse. Would have preferred something tight.5. Tether app works well with iOS but has issues with Android. Also, I would prefer Netgear Genie any day.6. Option to turn off LED from app or from device is a good to have option.7. Router is very stable and never had to restart or troubleshoot.If you want good range, go for Netgear or Asus models. Even Archer C1900 would suffice (I had initially ordered C1900 but with not so good range I selected C2600 - however, there is not much / no difference in range). If you want good speed and multitasking capabilities, go for C2600.
