Pro Audio Quality BUT
By Rkaveon
but heavy pain was experienced after prolonged use yet, it's fair deal for Pro Audiophiles for Mixing & Recording.
Better than ath m50x in my opinion
By Alokon
My brother has an audio technica ath m50x he brought recently. I have read through a lot of forums and some people said it has a "V" shaped frequency response, the bass and highs were nice but the mids was a little bit recessed, and i heard those cans and asked my brother about it, he did say that the mids were a bit lacking, but the detail was nice and generous. Now the SRH440 is more flatter in a true sense, and some people might find the bass in these a little bit lacking, but actually it is quite nice, the bass is nice a refined and the instrument seperation is better making these sound more "wide-stage" than the m50x but both the headphones are great! I would say the m50x is more for listening pleasure and the srh440 are more "monitoring-purpose" oriented, but they are fun to listen too. I hope this helps people who are unable to decide b/w the m50x and srh440, and at this price range i would go ahead and say these are better than the m50x for the price! More neutral sounding, nice tight but not overwhelming bass and very detailed in the mids and highs.
SHURE !!! i would recommend it

i was stuck to a pair of Sennheisers for the past 2 years before it became a decorated war hero and died on me. my line of work is with Music Production and i was in no position to invest in another expensive pair of reference headphones. checked out a few products before i could be "Shure" this is worth investing. AKG is again a great product for Audio Engineers. Flat responses are very much necessary for people like us. unlike the high end headphones that deliver performance and not comfort. SHURE meets my expectation of Balanced sound and comfort even after long hours of work.
NEAR FLAT RESPONSE LITTLE CRISPIER TOO
By OKATOSARIon
I WAS SURPRISED WHEN I TOOK THEM TO MY STUDIO AND CHECK\ED ALONG WITH MY GENLEC NEAR FIELDS THESE HEAD PHONES SOUND 90% SAME ,THATS REALLY GREAT IN THIS RANGE AND EVEN COMPARED WITH DT 880 S BUT SHURE SOUNDS LITTLE CRISPIER THAN 880S WHICH IS GOOD
ACTUALLY, I BOUGHT THEM FOR SINGING PURPOSE BUT I DONT DAY ITS TAT GR8 FOR THAT PURPOSE AND I NEED TRY MORE MAY BE, BUT FOR MIX MONITORING.. THEY ARE VERY RESPONSIVE THESE WILL BE GOOD FOR GUITARS TOO.
THANX SHURE!
Quality headphone for detailed listening
By Dhruvanon
Built quality and design:
The built quality is very good. But I felt it will be better if the wires to the driver from the head band were sealed. Anyway very well built with good quality plastic and nice fold able design.
But this headphone is not very comfortable for long sessions. It is a bit heavy.
Sound quality:
Clear, perfect and well balanced. Very good for home studio and for those who loves detailed listening with good imaging and nice instrument separation at this price range. As this is a closed back headphone the sound stage is not that big but still it is above average. External amp is not necessary Will give good performance without amp. But is of course better with an amp.
Bass heads may not prefer this headphone.
So a very good pick for detailed listening and home studio purpose according to my opinion.
very good

Well rounded performer for the price

Very good sound-quality for the price.
Comfort is Good too.
Best part is one of the few hi-fi brands available in India, with warranty honored by local dealers.
Ear-cups fold inwards for better trans-portability.
Leather soft-pouch is of good quality.
Only accessory you get is quarter inch adapter in gold finish.
Packing was excellent.
Cons:
1 - Cord is coiled and not the easiest to live with. Straight cable costs about 20 USD.
2 - Best-suited for stationary listening although listening on the go is not too bad.
