This I got as a mistake order. I had used the old detachable model since 2 years without any problem. I used the old model for avg. 10 hrs per day. Now, I decided to keep this new one. This is fast and silent too. No heat problem or usage difficulty. Looks very simple. It is with 3 years warranty- till July 2015. Should-Can register online at seagate. Comes with various international plug adapters and quite long power and usb cables. The build in backup-dashboard software is very useful and is simple. In all, this new one is just similar to its old leader just missing the detachable pannel... for me its the old one that wins my heart!

I have purchased this from Flipkart and again I am very thankful to them to deliver the product before even from the given date. My motive to purchase this was based on two of my requirements 1) is large storage space to keep collection of my Full HD Movies and 2 ) to use this HD to connect with my Samsung TV to watch them. However my fist desire got fulfilled to keep store my collection but second got failed due to restriction in nowadays TVs as they don't recognize HD with more than 2TB. Anyways still happy with it's performance and a HUGE SPACE. I loved it

Friends Go for Seagate they are the best Hard disk manufacturers in the world ............... i orders this 4TB External storage on 12 march and within 24 hours i got this on 13 march, Excellent fast service from Flipkart........................ In Specification it is not mention that this External HDD require External Power Supply. Off course it is 4TB Drive so " IT DOES NOT RUN ON USB power Supply...... I already have similar 2TB HDD of seagate which i have ordered from Flipkart and receive well packed.... I have using that drive from more than one year and i did not face any problem related to that drive ... So in My Opinion go for SEAGATE HardDisk Drives .... They Can be trusted for our valuable data safety..............................

I have made the purchase about 10 months ago, and so far , there have been no issues with the product. I was able to experience speeds of 35 MBps when connected to a SATA1 5400RPM HDD, and upto 130 MBPS via SATA2 7200RPM HDD. No heating issues with the product. Only cons with the product are 1.Kinda feels fragile so very prone to damage even on medium scale impacts. 2.The mere fact that you have to connect it to a charger. But that is something you already know when buying so, not exactly a con though. Overall, if budget is an issue for you and you need more storage at a lower price, I would say go for this!
