This drive is super fast. NOTE:You need a SATA port which supports SATA III 6Gbps and only then can you take the full advantage of its speed. For me I unfortunately have a SATA port which supports 3Gbps and get about Read speeds of 284MB/s and Write speeds of 273MB/s. You will get 220/240 MB/s if you are using IDE mode in your BIOS. Switch to AHCI from BIOS and Read/write speeds will increase to the 280 MB/s mark. Also remember that you can write about 150TB of data on the drive before it goes out. No limit for reads. Go for this drive if you are looking for an upgrade where Windows 7 will boot in about 5 secs. Hope this helps!

To put it briefly, I was blown away by the performance difference. My laptop was no slouch by any means prior to installing this SSD ( Dell XPS 15, Core i7 2630 QM, 12 GB RAM, 7200 rpm 720 GB HDD) but the performance difference and the snappiness post installation was downright amazing. Now im using old old HDD as a secondary storage using a caddy and this one as my boot/OS disk. I would highly recommend this product to all, especially since it has a class leading warranty of 10 years and because of RAPID mode.. Nuff said.

Reviews of this ssd is easily available online on Anandtech or Tom's Hardware and every result has it as a top sata-ssd performer. pricing is also same as the previous 840 pro and not very much from evo series.Got this from primeabgb good packing and prompt delievery.Very small and light, felt like an empty cigarette case. My System - i7-2600k, 8 gb corsair vengeance RAM, asus MB, WD 2002FAEX 2tb Black HD. Experience : Using it for 3 weeks very fast OS installation and boot. Interdrive read/write speed is 220-240 mbps. On wd black drive write speed is 135-140 mbps and on usb 3.0 external Desktop HD write is around 100-120mbps ofcourse no slowing on part of ssd. For games no loading screen (serious), only sometimes when gpu or cpu has some loading to do. The amazing part is actually for browsers I open a lot of tabs which reload after I reopen firefoz or chrome. Earlier it would take a lot of time for every page to load cache from HD but now page loads as soon as I open the application. Zero loading time, this applies to pdfs, MS-word, photoshop ,etc. After some time booting and copying seems natural like that's how a system should work. Guranteed no one could go back to harddisk. Also very quiet no mechanical sound of Harddisk. Plus the 10 year warranty seems to seal the deal for me. If you can afford a high end system go for this, 256gb seems enough for OS and Games.
