I bought this battery to supplement the original that I got with the Camera. The new battery they sold to me is defective. As I was about to start my trip when I received it I was not able to check the number of photos I can take after each recharge. And it turned out to be a large disappointment as it give only 70 -80 Photos after each recharge. When I came back from trip and wanted to return it stating the same reason, the seller said I can’t return the battery because their return policy is only for 15 days and I am contacting them after 20 days. I decided to not to buy from this seller in the future and I advise the same for anyone who is planning to buy from them. I think Flip kart should have better quality control when they allow other vendors to sell through their website.

The life for EN EL14a is marginally better than EN EL14. I am yet to make a comparison. There is a small benefit I found with EN EL14a, it does not drain much when left idle inside the camera for a period of 1 week. Going for the 3rd recharge now. Number of shots increasing with every recharge. Expect something around 1000 shots without flash, 400-500 shots with flash, 45 minutes of continuous live view and video shooting. Given the choice I will go for EN EL14a instead of EN EL14. Take the camera firmware version compatibility into consideration before buying. I am using it with D5200. Delivery: Flipkart has become unpredictable these days with increase in business. Sometimes they are fast sometimes they are hopelessly annoying.

The Nikon battery which I purchased 3 months before is malfunctioning now. I have just used 3 times. When I charge the battery I have noticed some difference in charging time when comparing to the original battery came along with Camera kit. Seems like a duplicate one and the product does not have any warranty. So be careful when purchase from the seller: CameraSquare.
