I am using this with a BSNL 16Mbps DSL connection at my home. The WiFi router is giving me a min 144Mbps link speed on all my devices at 300Mbps setting. And the ADSL2 modem was able to automatically figure out the type of connection for BSNL broadband (PPPoE) and the corresponding VPI/VCI values, which is a useful feature.
The traffic meter quota field does not accept more than 5 digits, so you cannot enter more than 99999 MB, which is approx. 100GB. If you have a higher quota plan, the feature might not be useful for you.
The router modem combo works pretty well. I keep it switched on 24x7. It does get heated up and the DSL disconnects at least once a day, but reconnects automatically if any client requests internet access. This is despite setting it to "Always On".
Overall a good package. As usual, the netgear web control panel sucks.
It might be worth checking out D-Link counterpart which is much cheaper or Belkin's, both of which will have a better looking web interface in my opinion. Both of them are available on flipkart.

My analysis for best router with modem
300Mbps - DLINK 2750U, NETGEAR DGN 2200v4 (Costly)
600 or 750Mbps - Belkin
Dlink has 3 year warranty, So its good. TP-LINK toll free number not working many times.
Linksys is very costly. Belkin 300mbps modem with router is outdated product (no support page), but 600mbps+ are very good. So i moved onto Netgear (A popular company in networking) DGN 2200 Version 4 modem with router (Released in April 2013) Before v4 was released, v3 was there. Flipkart combined the reviews with v3. So read reviews with date.
Quality: At present, it is working good. Moreover all routers will work good for 1 year. After that only we can decide its quality.
Basic features like other routers:
* Easy config, less heat
Extra features that are not available in other routers:
* 24*7 Toll free support in all Indian languages - 18001024327 (All Indian languages are supported Eg: Call to the toll free number and say you want to speak to tamil executive, they will transfer call to that language executive)
*A dedicated app called 'NETGEAR GENIE' is available to monitor this router. When a new device is connected to router, you will get a notification. It also has ANDROID APP and IOS APP to monitor router. The app is used to check total data used in each day, month and many more features
*It comes with STAND and also has slots for WALL MOUNTING
*Has WAN support (Future internet technology)

Support from Netgear is very good. This particular device i.e. DGN2200 wireless signal is very very weak. Even with in the range of 22ft distance with out any wall between its hardly getting connected. Will be returning this device.

I was using a Beetel router with very basic features, which just went off suddenly one fine day and I realized it was time for an upgrade. After sometime spent on various options like Netgear, Linksys (Cisco), TP Link and Asus, I decided on this variant of Netgear, primarily because of its reliability and Wireless bandwidth (300 Mbps).
I got this within 2 days of placing the order with Flipkart. Packaging was brilliant, I must say.
After unpacking, I configured it to use with my BSNL connection. It was an easy job (though there was some initial hiccups, not any fault of the router, but the landline itself). Also, I installed the Netgear Genie. After successful Internet connection, the Router checked and updated its firmware and user interface. The new interface is much more friendly and less cluttered.
The device is very feature rich, maybe because I was using a really basic router. There is almost everything that you can wish for. The device also has a USB port that supports external hard drives, and it is accessible via a shared drive. There are options to make this drive accessible over Internet, but I am little skeptical to enable this. The router has good range and is easily accessible past 2 concrete walls. So far, the network is stable and didn't experience any drops.
Overall, a good package. Price is little on a higher side, considering TP Link's offering with similar configs is cheaper by almost 1k. However, looks like a good deal to me, with all its features. I would highly recommend this router if you need good network coverage and advanced features.
stopped working after 1 year

One fine day my router that i had purchased after donating 4200 decided not to work anymore. This was not the end. Then comes the pathetic customer support. Dialed 18001024327 but for next 2 hours they said only 1 thing..."All our representative are busy on other lines. Please hold the line. All calls are important to us."

Good Router and has stable network

The device doesn't have antennas as displayed in the picture. The device with antennas is a different model.
I have used this router for the past 5 months and Haven't faced any problems with it. Bought this router as my previous router would constantly get jammed and needed reset. Don't have this issue with this router.
The Set -up was a bit tricky as the instructions manual was not clear. Called the customer care and they resolved it immediately and guided through the set-up procedure.
Rest it hasn't given me any trouble. It syncs really quickly with other WPS enabled devices and no need to re-sync the devices after restarts etc.
The range is good and it gives me good coverage even across 3 rooms i.e. across 4 walls barrier.
Hope this is helpful.

This is an awesome router, specially the features it have.
Though its not the same which is been highlighted in screen otherwise the router have capability to cover a home without any worries.
USB port at the back makes it compatible with USB drives or disk or you can connect printer or other devices with it.

This is the WORST ROUTER. I bought it for Netgear's name and it does serve the purpose of a good range but it has a MAJOR FAULT, it keeps getting disconnected after every 5-10 minutes. I confirmed with my internet provider and they confirmed that there's no problem with the line. I called Nwtgear's support and they did try to help me but eventually they also concluded that their product has faults. I asked for replacement and they told me to go to their service centre in Lamington road and even after requesting a pickup service, they clearly denied that. I'm a working lady and I don't have time to run to their service centre. If the company sends a faulty piece, it should be their responsibility to get it replaced and not buyer's responsibility. IT WAS THE MOST UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE WITH NETGEAR'S SERVICE AS WELL AS PRODUCT. No matter how big the company name is, this is India and even the company like Neatgear fails to provide proper service or good product in India.Please don't waste your money on this product. We certainly do not get quality product in India.

Bought this modem-router unit when our 10 year old BSNL-provided modem came to realization that it can no longer withstand monsoon lightning and decided to call it a day. This unit replaced the above-mentioned modem and a Belkin N150 wireless router. As usual, Amazon service was prompt, received the item on 3rd day after placing the order. The packaging was good and the original Netgear packaging was unopened.The performance of the modem is satisfactory, it does take close to 3 minutes to establish a stable connection after switching on the unit (I think BSNL modem was a bit faster, maybe I am wrong). The connection is rock solid once the connection is established (our BSNL exchange is 2 km away). The modem-router is ON always, and I haven’t seen any loss in connection yet.Router part is a let down though, I was expecting a huge improvement in the range after replacing the router. The WiFi link seems to be more stable after using Netgear, but the range is less when compared to the Belkin router which it replaced. Not a big issue for me since I still get the maximum BSNL-provided speed even if WiFi signal indicator shows one bar.Since I had hours of experience trying to configure old BSNL modem and talking to customer care (they are actually very helpful unlike their Cellone counterparts), setting up the modem-router was very easy (the only hiccup happened when I tried using setup wizard, and the whole thing crashed). I’ve included a screenshot showing the settings I used (this works in Trivandrum, can’t vouch for other areas).Hope this review helps someone out there.
Nice compact easy-to-setup modem-router

Nice compact Router with vertical mount. Was up and running in less than 10 minutes. All I had to do was to provide the ISP user name and password. Setting up Wifi was easy as well. Parental control needs to be explored. USB sharing works good. Been up for almost 24 hours now. No disconnections so far. Have connected 1 desktop, a laptop, 4 mobile phones, and 2 tablets. Works like charm. Make sure you register the product in netgear website.The genie app on desktop works ok. Installed On iphone/ipad and checked out USB share option. Works good.Overall a good deal.Oh yes, Amazon shipment rocks ! Lightning fast.

If you are looking for a home router+modem this is the best one. Even though its little on the costlier side it is worth investing as it wont fail on u like the cheap ?1500 ones. I have been using it for 2-3 months now. Its got excellent speed and range. I get excellent reception even when i'm sitting 3 rooms apart. Its got a usb port but i havent used that as of now. Also it looks very sexy on its vertical stand. Doesnt heat up and doesnt take up any space.
Excellent service product not good

Received well in time. Once again great service by Amazon. As far as range is concerned it is not good. I am writing this review after using it for some 15 days. I have recently observed that signal drops frequently. I dont get good speed though ISP is giving a good speed. Network drops every 5 mins. Done all kind of changes but not successful. Would like to return it to Netgear. My MTNL modem was much much better than this product
