So I am highlighting the improvements of the iPad Air 2 over the iPad Air,====Physical Changes==== -1. Lets first talk about the superficial changes. I can tell you without the shadow of a doubt that this particular version Silver iPad Air 2 with the white cellular band is the best looking iPad I have ever seen. The device is a treat to hold. The iPad Air 2 comes for a premium price but every day of your life you're going to look at this and wonder wow. When I first heard they have done away with mute lock switch, I had a mixed emotion and thought it was a compromise but I find myself never missing it. You can use that option from the control centre option by simply swiping up and selecting or deselecting it. Other physical changes include a two way speaker grill which only lends more attribute to the sound.2. The device is a little lighter but a lot easier to hold thanks to width reduction. They've done away with an entire layer of screen and as a result have made the colours more vibrant, sharper, even more dazzling than the previous generation. When the iPad Air 2 is not being used it emits a faint blue/black halo kind of effect on the screen. There is minimal reflection and the viewing angles are amazing, the brightness feels a bit lesser than the previous generation at first glance but the accuracy has definitely gone up so that negates any initial hiccup.3. We all know Apple iPad Air 1st generation lacked the killer blow with the=== TOUCH ID=== but at long last, it is here. Apple took extra long to bring this feature but heck, its here and hooray.Hardware Changes [that accentuate performance]4. ====The new SPEAKER ==== - grill design doesn't necessarily increase sound output or volume but the sound is more balanced, more linear, more active and ingratiated than ever before. Try transferring an audio book to this iPad and you will be delighted at how wholesome and uncannily active the voice sounds. Really excellently done, Apple. This speaker is one of my favourite feature additions. Music sounds more delectable and room-filling.5.==== CAMERAS ====- I didn't know there was anything wrong with my iPad Air camera but trust me, the white balances, sharpness and color saturation points have been filled and this makes for the most amazing pictures. I'm not one of those people who keep complaining or whining about why tablets must have cameras but hey you're spending a fortune on an iPad Air so you best make use of it. You can now take time lapses on this iPad and trust me taking a time lapse video on an iPad Air 2 is way better than taking one on your iPhone. For one, it is easier to place. The selfie camera is outstanding. Just 10/10 and will give you some amazing snap, amazing detail, amazing bang for your buck. For some odd reason, I feel it is even superior to my iPhone 6. Maybe it has OIS and that has added a truly marvellous scope, you see the iPad Air 2 takes better selfie than my Iphone 6. It really optimises the best possible angle of images and makes sure they look really worthy. Why should you care? You know those times you take 4-5 snapshots to get one right?? With the iPad Air 2, you'll need just one for the perfect image. This is a surprisingly unique category and truly exemplifies the iPAD AIR 2's prowess. Shutter is surprisingly and welcomingly fast. And if you want you can take BURST PHOTOS now! Finally apple!6. ===iBooks/eReading====Dear Buyer, don't buy this iPad if you are not going to be reading books on it for it is an absolute delight. I mean wow! The extra Pixels Per Inch truly comes into effect here. The reading on this iPad Air is a pleasure. Also while reading iBooks because of the improved pixel density and higher resolution, I felt i was holding a screen MUCH BIGGER, MUCH BRIGHTER and BOLDER than the iPad Air. This is one of my favourite features.Now for the features I love about the iPad Air Series (these aren't necessarily changes since the previous generation)7. Excellent Mail Client and typing on this iPad Air 2 is such a smooth wholesome experience, I wouldn't change a thing about it. With iOS 9, you can even multi task by using multi windows but I haven't installed iOS 9 yet because iOS 8 is doing just fine for me. Effectively you get 55GB free with this iPad. The A8X chipset is noticeably faster at some tasks but the ram usage is also optimised by this.8. BATTERY LIFE - So lets say you want to play music when you're in a hotel room, you want to listen to an audio book, you want to watch youtube videos, you want to read an ibook when you're on the plane or you want to stream VLC movies (yes, iPad Air can play MKV/MP4/AVI/DIVX/XVID anything against common myth) ... battery is excellent. In my experience, the device plays 12 hours of video on a single charge. 30 hours of audio on a single charge. Can be used 12 hours at a go. I charge this guy once in 3-4 days.OVERALL, I give the iPad Air 2 full marks but am deducting one star because it is ridiculously expensive. Performance comes at a price but I think Apple is charging too much for their iPad Air 2 series. One paid higher for 64GB devices in 2010 when Apple had introduced the iPad. But one still pays the same or higher price for the optional 64GB/128GB devices. How does Apple even explain this? At the same time I feel iCLOUD is a big joke Apple is playing on us and with each update, the iOS seems more bent upon trying to sell you and me the iCLOUD additional storage. This is a very flawed approach by Apple. Also with each iOS release the performance lags because they want you to buy an even newer iPad.I've owned iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad Air and now this iPad Air 2 and i can tell you for a fact that if it wasn't for the iOS Releases every year, each iPad is still worth owning. So please beware of Apple and only buy into their ecosystem if you are willing to turn a blind eye towards these malpractices. My sister uses my iPad 2 with iOS 6, it works like a charm and the library is easier for music.The price is enormous. I mean one can get a Macbook Air for this much price and do way more. Create more content, watch more films and end up happier. Why would someone spend so much on a tablet only to buy a newer one every 2nd or 3rd year?But hey, thats part of being an Apple fan, you're strong armed by the emotions Apple brings out in you. I don't mean for this review to take a philosophical turn so i'm sorry if I'm making this an indulgent rant. Anyway, I hope I helped you in making an active purchase decision.As for using the Cellular chip...please wait for an update, I'll be traveling from Delhi to GOA tomorrow and will use my 4G Chip and keep you guys updated. Give me 10 days for an update max.VERDICT - Buy it if you can afford it or else buy the previous generation.

This is my first Apple device. I am sharing my experience after using the device for 3 days. Build Quality is superb. Display is very awesome. Touch ID is great and works well all the time. Very slim (6.1mm). I played the games Iron Man 3, Candy Crush Saga, Stick Tennis, Real Racing 3, Sonic Dash, 300 Game, Pirates, Bike Rivals. All the games worked really well. I haven't seen any lag. ***Updated the device with 8.1.1 and the iOS is running smooth.

Its almost 6month em using my ipad air 2 without any problem Its the best tablet I would recommend Almost you can do all the stuff which a notebook can do Pros Lightweight Good sound output Can use Microsoft office software for free from apple store Retina display awesome clarity Can be used as reading ebook As it is apple product no issues in camera Battery is awesome no issue Cons No option for expanding memory

It is my first ipad. I had little difficulty in choosing between iPad and Samsung galaxy tab 2, which is similar product in that range. I choose iPad becos to have different experience with Mac os. Coming to iPad : There is no problem at all. The touch wizard is superb. Battery backup is almost one day with normal usage. There is no lagg at all. Camera is decent. Pictures have grain textures.
