This review is based on almost one weeks use. Most of the time the device stays on for over 6 hours at a stretch. It does heat up a little, but not too much to be concerned. Looks nice, no configuration or setup required whatsoever. Claims to provide 21 mbps downlink, but that remains to be seen as none of the operators across the nation can deliver such speeds as of now. Router configuration page looks neat and well organised. I have tried BSNL, Tata Docomo and Idea. All are compatible, you dont even have to punch in access point. Coming to the WiFi range. You can access wifi across a large hall and a nearby room. Dont expect it to cover large areas as your WiFi router. This does have support for MicroSD which is a boon, as you can plug it into your cars usb and listen to songs and create a wifi hotspot together. In short Looks 4/5 Performance 4/5 Sturdiness 3.5/5 Ease of Use 5/5 WiFi Range 4/5 Delivery 5/5 Has no USSD to check balance (Neither does Huawei e8221) I spent nearly 3 weeks researching before I made the purchase. I was confused whether I should go for Huawei e8221 or this. Turns out for this price point and warranty (3 years) this is the best bet. But be advised Huawei has an android app which lets you control the device and set data limits, which D-Link does not, this is one of the selling point huawei e8221 has over this one besides the nice black look. Also Huawei has a lot of positive review across many website, owing to the huge brand recognition and the price, please dont let that influence your decision to go for it, as Dlink DWR 710 can deliver everything Huawei can and even more. I can vouch for it. Finally Flipkart delivery is worth a mention, speedy as always. Cheers

Got this product within 4 days in spite of being in a remote town. Package was in excellent condition with additional bubble wrap.Product is cool. Pros Speed upto 4 Mbps during download in a non metro (actual speeds as displayed by the browser) Doesnt heat up. Pure plug and play for Reliance 3G. Didnt have to do anything to set it up (using on a separate power source and not plugged into laptop). Solid build quality. Excellent security options. Easy to explore and utilise. Cons Doesnt come with a AC USB Power adaptor. That you need to purchase additionally if you need to use it as a pure 3G wifi router.

I'm using it with BSNL sim. It isn't a 4g hotspot as mentioned on amazon because the box says its 2G/3G....When I first plugged it in, all my 6 devices were continuously disconnecting.... Now I changed the broadcasting channel from 6 to Automatic - now it's working fine...It can also be used a dongle without setting it up! you just have to plug it in and wait for 10-15 seconds.WiFi Range in my house only up to kitchen from bedroom... and extremely weak at the living room so its better to plug it somewhere in center of your house...

As the several other reviews have mentioned, this acts as a wonderful WiFi access point for your home. Range is about 3-4 rooms and connectivity is superb. DLink's USP is its configuration, it provides all sorts of options for WiFi and Network connectivity. The most useful that I found was the "3G-Only" option that is very much needed in India and missing in other wireless routers such as Huawei.

Been using this for 7 months. Going strong. Good product. Has 3G-only mode. No USSD. No 4G. Has SMS. If you are using BSNL SIM, data balance can be checked online on 'bsnlszprepaid' website. Just be careful not to plug it somewhere where people move about frequently. One of the best device to purchase. It supports dedicated 3g, it will not switch back to 2g. Also working in roaming. Although you will have to change the setting after logging into the device portal. I have not connected it to my laptop but plugged it in electricity socket. It is working 24X7 without heating. I was earlier considering buying tp-link archer series but that cost around 9k. If you are not 4g freek this device is for you, i am getting 4-5mbs upload/download speed on airtel 3g sim. Also the regular 4g sim is working on it, no issue at all. Highly recommendedAlso note it is not soft wifi it is real wifi and i am getting good ranger across the home.

The product is great...just the way it is described.The only cons. is No USSD as u might see in other reviews but hope that would be no issue if in future the makers upgrade the firmware version.Frankly speaking, I did not face any disconnection issue that is being described in certain reviews.. I dont know why they say that the Dongel disconnects after some time.its fine....the problem might be of the Operator...not this device............Overall No issues faced till date....reviewing after a 20 days after purchase..Also that Amazon service is also great...I surfed a lot almost wasted about 500mb searching for a plug and play wifi dongel that would just start hotspot just Photon plus/whiz...got it from amazon for Rs. 300 less....t5 than Flipkart..
