FINALLY !! A thumpy Earbud that gels with my Compaq-HP Laptop
By Rahul Son
Well, I didn’t get this thingy via Flipkart , but Flipkart reviews are for educated & objective crowd , so here goes ...
First off , let this be known - this product EP-600 has been phased out by Creative in the western world You wont find anything below EP-630 range , anywhere out there . "Dumping" is happening in South-East Asia / Russia , hence this "cheap" price point . Not that it matters for us Indians - as long as it brings what it promises .
Coming to the product .... well, I had done thorough research before deciding on this . I do have 3 pricey SkullCandy buds for my iPod Touch , Galaxy S3 and Tablet , different models and perfectly tuned for respective devices .
Experience has taught me that an Earbud which performs superlatively for one device may not ( read DOES NOT ) perform so well for the other . And thats precisely why you find a WHOLE SPECTRUM OF REVIEWS ( Good-Bad-Ugly ) contradicting each other for the same freaking Earbud !!
I'm not a sound-engineer / electronics geek , but probably every device has an "impedance match" sensitivity for Audio-Out , for the perfect frequency response reproduction, and hence the Compatibility Factor with a Playback Device . Graphical Equaliser tweaking DOES NOT help in most cases . The Earphone & the Device just repel one another , like an artificial limb implant ?
Everything remaining same ( Music File , EQ settings , Volume Level etc ) the SkullCandy which lifts my spirits & literally thumps my heart on my iPod Touch , FELL FLAT when played on my COMPAQ-HP Laptop ... the bassy beats sounded hollow , artificial & irritating , treble & mid-range was hazy .
Having found the PERFECT ( EXPENSIVE ) MATCHES for my other devices , I had been on the lookout for a RESPECTABLE ( BUT REASONABLY PRICED ) MATCH for my COMPAQ CQ60 . Tried all kinds of stuff over the last couple of years , in 100 to 300 bux range . Out of the 4-5 earphones I wasted money on, I found the 120 bux Philips SHE1360/97 behaving the best ... really fascinating clarity of sound but with NO BASS what-so-ever , good enough for Hindi Movies , but NOT for Hollywood Sci-Fi in Dolby / Beaty Trance Music which I dig. Thats when I decided on EP-600 , with fingers crossed .
I read somewhere that Creative Earbuds come boxed with DELL Laptops & that the users were hooked onto it . Thats what gave me hope that probably this would gel with my COMPAQ .
Got the stuff tonight & voila , it married perfectly !!
Had to tune EQ just a bit on VLC Player to get the best juice out , but a real WOW indeed !! Sound volume is not the loudest, mind you – its just about moderate . While Skullcandy volume & thump blows your brains out - like a loud punk on the street , this one behaves like a decent Englishman – with class & finesse . I found a perfect blend of performance at low-mid-high range . Bass is good , but don’t expect too much , it doesn’t match up with Sennheiser / SkullCandy or high-end Sony .
What brought smiles to me was the perfect compatibility with my laptop and thats what mattered frankly . No other earbud could reproduce sound so well from my Laptop , not even the expensive ones . And well, as I had expected , this stuff did not perform half as good , on my iPod Touch or my Galaxy S3 . Enough said ... about compatibility ?
Now the only thing clouding my mind is the DURABILITY of this product . Heard enough about "one side" dying off in weeks . Not sure whether the Seller / CREATIVE Customer Support would bail me out . The wires are thin yes , but SkullCandy is probably thinner ?
Hoping against hope , that this stuff would give me company for at least a year or two , on my Laptop ( Movie & Music alike ) .
Final reco – perfect match for COMPAQ CQ60 ( DELL too I heard ) . For all Laptop-Compatible Earbud searchers – LOOK NO FURTHER . At this price point , nothing comes close ?
sounds good and looks bad
By Thomas Mathew Theckedathon
Big thanks to flipkart, the shipment came earlier than it predicted. Usually its the other way around in my area.
The sound quality is definitely good and the isolation is good too. One possibly can't complain about the sound which is quite good at its price.
The headphone doesn't look like it comes from Creative. One might wonder if it was bought for 50 bucks from the streets, if not for its sound quality. Never seen a one that looks more fragile. The ear piece isn't strongly built and it looks like the thin wire is going to come off anytime. I mean, everything fits a second quality product except its awesome sound. Not meant for rough use or even regular use.
I wouldn't recommend to buy this particular headphone because good sound quality wouldn't help if it is broken after a few weeks. You can buy it, but you'll have to look after it like a baby.
Pros - excellent sound at affordable price, comes from Creative
Cons - poorly built, looks cheap
Worth the price
By Krishnakumaron
Great job by Flipkart to ship the product within two days of order.
I should say that the earphone is getting excellently cozy with my music player and easily gets adapted to the bass and treble sounds. The noise-cancellation took me by surprise, since it was able to effectively cancel off a honking train (albeit at full volume). The earbuds are initially uncomfortable but, sets good tone once settled. As expected, I didn't get crystal clear sound like my Brainwavz but, it is excellent value for money. If you want an earphone within Rs. 650, it is surely an option.
4/5 for the product, just because of the lack of the crystal clear sound.
PS: Don't go for the Skull Candy ones. Its life is just 3 months (2 times user). Creative earphones lasts longer, something I learnt from my EP-630, which works like a gem even after 3 years.
Not Worth It !!!
By Anshuman Pradhanon
I went for a cheaper deal and paid the price... Should have gone for EP 630...
Cons in EP-600:
1. Earbud of one of the earphones got dismantled within 15 days of normal use. Had to use fevi-quick to fix the same. Even two of my cousins who purchased this along with me, experienced the same problem. Now we have three fevi-quicked fixed EP-600s. :(
2. The soft rubbers packed in the packets (meant for spare ear buds) were half supplied and half missing. Rare packaging defect from Creative I believe.
3. Cheap cable quality in the earphone really sucks. You will get a feel that the cable would get snapped.
4. Audio somehow does not get rendered equally from the left and right earbuds. Does not happen regularly but the issue occurs intermittently.

Very nice sounds....
Excellent
By Kashish Gargon
Bought 2 more units for future proofing. Creative is far better brand than JBL, Sony, RHA, Skully Candy or even Bose. None can match the sound characteristics, sound signature, Atmosphere, Bass, affordability, durability and reliability of Creative audio products. This product isn't different from that.
It looks like I got a THX verified earphones at a price cheaper than stealing. Such low price of these earphones is a wonder in itself. The bass is like thunder. What can I say, much better than Sony XB55AP? And those cost 2500. Looks like victory is Creative's tradition. Also my Creative Aurvana In-Ear Plus 3 is arriving soon. Got them for 9000. God knows much of a beast they will be. Try it and you won't be disappointed.
Best in the market!
By Zaki Anwaron
Build quality is good, deep bass with high punch. only mic is not there. else value worth money.
Unmatched!
By Pallav Pathakon
Creative earphones are one of the best! Though the brand has somewhat faded into the background with the emergence of a gazillion other brands, they can hardly match the audio quality of Creative headphones.

Fake Product
By AJ Annon
This product is fake. It is not original Creative headsets but some Chinese copy. Returned it as soon as I got it. There is no bass or clarity, almost sounds like a Rs 99 ear-phone from a local shop. I’ve had Creative ear-phones in the past so I can clearly make out the difference between a fake and original.
So far I like it a lot
By Sue chackoon
Just started using these earphones. So far I like it a lot. The audio is very clear and cancels out most of the background noise. It doesn't work that well with my phone; my phone went haywire when I plugged it in and only after some tweaking could I hear through the earphones. Works great on the laptop. The cord could be more sturdy; it's fine. It's just that it feels very flimsy. I am satisfied for what I paid.

Delicate (need to be handled carefully but I think every earphones are delicate) but the sound quality is really awesome. Ordered it in lightning deal at 199/-Highly satisfied
