My temps before CM hyper 212, i.e on stock AMD Heat sink would idle at 30-40 and when on full load will reach above 80 On continuous stress using Prime95 , I faced the problem of shutdown bcoz my temps are going above 88'C, So I decided to buy a new Heat Sink and bought this product Now my temps under full load at 4.0ghz are 55 and idles between 25-30 I've used this product with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, Hoped it would bring my temps below 50 but it didn't happen because its too hot here in summer and my rooms temps are around 30 also Arctic silver 5 requires 200hrs of break-in period Installation was a very hard, it took me 2hrs to install this heat sink. Received product very late almost took 7 working days -1 star for shipping and installation My Rig: Fx 8350 Asus M5A97 R2.0 Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR 3 Ram ASUS GTX 600 DIrect CU CM Thunder 500 PSU CM Elite 310 Cabinet PS : It does fit in mid tower cabinet such as CM ELITE 310, I was worried before ordering, but it fits fine, I'm quite satisfied with the purchase, I'm hoping my temps would go down by more 5'C after few days. Conclusion : This Heat Sink is not for Over-clockers, You may overclock i5 or i7 but definitely not FX 8350 or above

I own a FX-8350 and my temps were going around 66-72C while gaming on 1080p for like 20 minutes. The stock cooler fan was obnoxiously loud. I didn't even try running Prime95, but I am sure the temps would have crossed 80 if I did. After installing 212x, it idles at around 35-37 and with 100% load (Prime95) for 20 minutes, the temps are in the 57-60C range. 59C is the average, I'd say. It's inaudible and stays around 1600-1700 rpm at 100% usage opposed to the 5800-6000 rpm of the stock cooler fan. Couldn't get a better cooler for this price. Pros:- i) Cheap as dirt ii) Extremely efficient iii) Very low on noise Cons:- i) Installation is a bit tricky ii) It stands around 158 mm. Make sure your case supports at least 162mm for CPU cooler before getting it.

I installed this on my AMD FX-6300 and temperatures are Awesome!! Temperatures before with stock cooler : While gaming [Watch Dogs] 50-60' C and Shut-downs.... While idle: 30-45' C And very loud stock fan!!! Temperatures now with Hyper 212X : While gaming : [Watch Dogs] 20-35' C !!!! While idle : 13-20' C !! No noise at all, and I can hear my old HDD!! It never reached above 40' C.! This is a total Bang For The Buck!!!! Without any hesitation go for it!!! Flipkart delivered this in 4 days, Great job...

This is the best cooling solution I have come across in real life. Online reviews are really helpful. They offer an insight to whatever you are buying. But you wouldn't find much buzz about this model of the Hyper 212. This is the 'X' version. It is a step up from the popular EVO. A lot of people don't know that. This is a new and improved version of the Hyper 212 EVO cooler and boy does it prove that. First of all here is my configuration in case you guys are wondering whether it will work or whether it will fit. ASUS Z87 - A --- Motherboard Intel i7 4770K Processor Stock Speed not overclocked (Dont need to TBH) Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 16gb Ram (2 of 8GB sticks) WD 1TB AVGB Green hard disk (Surveillance edition hard disk) Asus R9 280x Direct CU II TOP edition graphics card Seasonic S12 II 620 Watts PSU NZXT Phantom 410 By the way if you're wondering this cooler fits perfectly in the NZXT phantom. Now, I read reviews about how much cooling this thing provides and how hard it is to mount. First of all it is a trick to mount this thing, just read the instructions carefully and NEVER use another thermal compound other than the one provided because the company does a lot of research into what components are being mixed to make the thermal paste and metallurgy is a thing a lot of us under estimate or pretend to know. We don't. Just use the one that came with the cooler. Now about the temps. I heard around 45=60 degrees C under load and 32C under idle conditions. With my config, I am not kidding. I get 16- 20 degrees C under idle and 33 degrees under full load. I live in Silvassa which gets pretty humid and hot during the summer. Even with the AC turned off the temps refuse to climb. Either I got lucky or this cooler is fantastic. Not overkill, just really good. When it comes to computer components, there is no such thing as over kill. I was opting for the Corsair H100i radiator before choosing this and boy am I proud of choosing this. The radiator could never match the cooling for this price. Hell it couldn't match it even if the radiator was the same price. Go for this instead of the EVO or any radiator out there. Radiator tech is still under developed and there are a few cases of pipes leaking which is more than enough to put me off. Besides you don't need a radiator. Who the hell gets 16C on air cooling ? No need to buy another fan for push pull config or any of the crap. Just buy this, install it and forget it !
