Best for Beginners

By Matton
Just started stargazing, and was in search of good basic telescope and then got to know about this product. very good for beginners build quality is OK, (bit shaky and unstable at heavy winds) two Lenses given are very Useful. third lense ( magnifier is not very much useful right now.. still need to learn more about it). overall good stuff for beginners to get hands on to a telescope and then move on if serious on stargazing..

A short review on celestron powerseeker 60az

By Kishanon
First Of all, the price here on flipkart for this scope is too much.I don't know why its here is Rs.5000+.Flipkart please lower its price. I have used this telescope (My friend's) and yes it is a good little scope with decent optics. But the eyepiece included are not so good and gives too much magnification which this telescope cannot handle. So i definetly recommend to those whose budget is very small. So If you plan to buy this telescope than you will need to upgrade to good quality eyepiece. The 20mm eyepiece is OK but the 4mm eyepiece is useless as it gives 175x magnification, which is too much for a 60mm telescope to handle. You can buy another eyepiece of 12mm or 10mm plossl eyepiece which will give better views. Also you can buy a good 2x barlow lens instead of using the cheap and useless 3x barlow that comes with the scope. Now, How does this scope perform under the night sky- You will be amazed when you will realize how this scope performs when used with good eyepiece. You can see Cloud bands of Jupiter and its four moons, Saturn and Sometimes the Cassini Division, phases of venus and hundreds of craters on the moon, ssome bright Deep Sky Object like Galaxies, nebula ,globular cluster, double/binary stars etc. But rememeber that you are not going to see the galaxies and nebula in colours like you see in the pictues and photographs. becoz those are taken using high end telescope and even by the HUBBLE telescope

Good for start

By Bhushan Joshion
Hi, I bought this to gift it to my daughter and It is really value for money you are spending. I am doing amateur astronomy since last 10 years. I have handled many telescopes which were 10 or more time powerful than this. Please don't consider you can see any planet like big football by this telescope . This is just an entry level telescope by which you can learn many thing before you go for high range telescopes. If you have enough understanding of reading star chart, you can see many astronomical objects through it. Google sky map can be the best companion while you operate this telescope to see planet and nebulae positions. I have seen Jupiter, Moon craters and many common nebulae through this and image quality was good (not best, and you must see technical details and price tag before expecting much. I brought it for Rs.2700). Product comes with two eyepieces, 20mm and 4mm and one Barlow. Avoid using 4mm and Barlow as it is very difficult to find object. 20mm is just fine. Tripod is again suitable for price tag. Finder is useless. Thanks

In last 4 months after buying. I have used it only 7 times. But atleast you get a nice set of optics for 4100 Rs. Good for using with SLR cameras . I am planning to buy the adapter. As just bringing a digital camera near the eye piece already gave me amazing pictures. 4mm eyepiece is a bit diificult to use ( Not for me but my parents and elders). Barlow should be sold as waste material plastic . Trust me. 20mm eyepiece is perfectly clear. The cold weather stops me these days for going on the terrace. In summer time, 2 times I used it for star and moon watching and a few times for neighbours to enjoy, Next 2 times were for watching the birds and trees far far away, And on a winter noon I took it out to see some more details of surrounding buildings. Land watching is better with this than the sky . Although it willbtake two days to work flawlessly with you in co ordination. I liked the controls. I admit , I didi a mistake in buying this, but at that time I was tooooo eager for a telesscope. And I have never been able to control my eagerness. 4 din ke maze h . Then it would remain in the attic for long months. I put all my savings. I am really upset But on other hand I am happy that after growing up I will never think that I didnt had this when I was a teenager. I fulfilled my dedire atleast. When I will earn lakhs , this 4000 wont mind me , But this product will always bring make remember all these days. As I have given my life for science since childhood

My First Window to the stars!

By Elroy Pereiraon
I always wanted a telescope since I was a kid! And finally my dream has come true thanks to flipkart for a very prompt delivery in less than 48 hours and received on a Sunday! This Telescope may be not the most powerful but its the best for the price I bought it 4724 RS! Since the monsoons are going on I did not get to use it much because of the constant cloud cover over the sky! But today i had clear skies and got to use it for the first time and there was a full moon too! I got to see the full moon in its fullest glory! I could see even the craters on the moon with outstanding detail! It was amazing! I love this telescope and proud to own one! Waiting for more clear skies! Now for the cons! No carry case and cleaning accessories. Plus the cleaning cloth provided is very very small! The eye pieces could have been better! And Pros! Great Stand! Great Telescope and very good magnifying power too. Plus a very nice accessory holder for the stand! Easy to assemble, mount and use!

Only for the moon

By Gaurav Chawlaon
Moon looks beautiful. But that's it! Almost impossible to align on stars using barlow lens as the telescope is not at all stable. The tripod adjustments are too light for this level of zoom. 3x barlow and 4mm eye piece are useless. 20mm is decent i guess 12mm eye piece combined with 2x barlow should give a better view of stars and planets, but i am still doubtful due to light weight tripod.

I really like this product.I should advise this for beginners as it is easy to assemble...nice one you can trust on this

Thumbs down

By Amazon Customeron
Complete waste of money. It is hard to get this to focus on anything. The image is too shaky & the Barlow lens are useless. It killed whatever interest I had in astronomy.

Totally Worth it.

Its nice for this range.
