like most of the folks reading the reviews, i too was hesitant on buying Adata.
I was not aware of this brand, nor does it carry the reputation of Seagate, WD, etc.
But well, even they do go bad and sometimes ship faulty disks.
But while checking for product reviews on tech forums, i found nothing wrong and decided to buy it as it was 3-4 k cheaper than seagate (or WD) and had a 3 yr warranty.
I primarily needed it to backup my PC data, so I could afford the risk.
Been using for about a month now, and no issues so far.
Registered my drive on Adata website for warranty insurance (no issues there as well).
[Always do this when u buy HDDs :)]
The transfer speeds are good and the product looks great.
I will re-edit this review after say about 6-8 months, let's see if Adata matches the more reputed brands in terms on longevity.
great
By Abhishek Sharmaon
i purchased this hard disk after reading various reviews on the internet.
Adata is a brand from UK that is selling hard disks at a cheaper price than other brands.
the speeds are on par with other hard disks.it does not got very much hot over long usages, and looks great in white.
i brought a 2TB version for my friend and it also works great.
Perfect product!

I am using this external hard drive from July, 2014. From day 1 to present the performance is exelent. No decrease in read/ wrtie speed. Always 90- 120 MB/s. Excellent product.
Good
By DINESH don
Everything about the product is good. Except that it is prone to scratches because of its glassy covering. Transfer speed is good. The look is good and also feels light.
Considering the price ( i got it for 6800) it is worth giving a shot.
Terrible product

Hard disk is good but sometimes it will not recognize and says to format. And it is also making some tick..tick..sounds
USB 3 Connector on the drive comes off. Poor Quality. Poor Customer Service. Get a more reliable hard drive for a little extra
By Amazon Customeron
I purchased this from Amazon in January 15. I have used multiple external hard drives from all brands in the last 10-15 years but this is the first one where the USB 3 connector port on the hard drive came off. Yes it came off. All my data was in the drive but there was no way for me to open it. And this was after just 1.5 years of intermittent use. I can understand bad sectors and other such issues but the USB connector port itself coming off reflects the very poor quality of the hard drives.I took it to their service center for repair in July 2016 but it has a 'no repairing policy' so they asked me to send it for replacement. They were not surprised and the company also covers this because it is a known issue. I reluctantly handed it over but after keeping it for more than 30 days they simply sent back my hard drive in a much degraded tampered state rejecting the warranty without even giving me proper documentation stating the reasons for rejection.Escalating it to their global service center has not been helpful either. In short avoid ADATA hard drives. Very poor quality and the company also does not stand behind its products and will just pretend to go through the motion and reject your claims. It is cheaper than competitors for a reason and I wish I had spent the extra Rs 200-500 to get a hard drive that lasts. After all, reliability is the key when it comes to our precious data.
Adata HV620 - 2TB
By Rishi Aon
Recent purchase. All standard as far as transfer speeds. The scary part for me is that the HDD powers off with a 'click' sound which is unlike any other HDD from any other well known brands. I called the service centre and they mentioned that this sound is common with Adata HDDs.Another point is that I use HDDs with media player connected to my TV and the Adata HDD needs care and a precise contact point and position for the media player to read/recognise the disc. Why did I buy Adata: thought of it as a VFM product considering the price. Will I buy another Adata HDD? Answer: NO Reason: 'Click' sound is scary.
Very bad product

DON'T BUY THIS CRAP !!!I bought this hard disk in Dec 2014, and somehow got only 2 years of warranty instead of 3 years(Import date was Nov 2014). After 3 month of usage one day it didn't connected properly. Then it started making clicking noise. In June 2015 I submitted it in the service center. 15 days later I got a new one. As soon as I connected it to the laptop, it was making clicking noise. The port is loose and the clicking noise scares me all the time. You can use it casually, may be as backup which you connect only once a year to your laptop.PLEASE SPEND RS. 300-500 MORE AND BUY WD or SEAGATE.It is not even worth Rs. 3000
Please don`t buy this harddisk the device is getting disconnecting ...

Please don`t buy this harddisk the device is getting disconnecting and making some clinging noise it gets hang many times I made a wrong decision buying this product I should have gone for WD or Segate
Not remanded if you love your DATA.
By Lavneshon
If you compair price then it is good.I found these problem in this.1: Socket b/w hard disk and cable is not to good.2: It comes with "fat 32 format". (why not NTFS)3: Speed is not good (Read/Write) if i compare with WD Elements & Seagate Expansion4: Most the time create problem while doing "safely remove" in windows. You will get error like it is still in use.5: Every time there is a risk of loss Data because of point 4.In all don't buy this product.
