The Review you need..!!
Most of the people will come here and see review to compare this phone with its rival One Plus 6, so here I will mostly do comparisons (will try my best to be unbias).
Performance : Fairly no comparison, but Asus 8GB version beats OP6 (8Gb) in Antutu bemchmark by some margin. Real world performance will be same.
Design : Depends on person to person. Both having glass back and looks premium.
Camera: Both having excellent rear camera. Asus captures better at night time and AI will dramatically enhance photots like scenery, food, sky, greenery, flower and make them more apealing to the eye. Whereas OP6 slowmo is better than 5z, also OP6 takes the edge when it comes to Selfie because of its 16MP shooter. Asus 5z has secondary wide angle camera which is quite helpful taking Wide angle photos, but it won't be same like primary camera. It will miss some depth.
Sound : Hands down. Asus 5z is clear winner here, no comparison at all. Asus has Dual 5-magnet external speakers accompanied with DTS Headphone technology something which OP miss in flagship level phone. Audio wizard takes it to another level. Also Asus supply descent earphone with the package which is addon.
Display : Both having excellent display. OnePlus comes with Amoled screen which has true black. 5z offers colour saturation customization and you can litterally make your device black and white which is peetty cool. Note that, if you break OP6 Amoled screen it will cost you way more than 5z's IPS display.
Software : Oxygen OS on Oneplus has already done its journey and its near to flawless when it comes to sheer performance whereas ZenUI did massive jump in their OS tuning this year. Previously it was little laggy because of its heavy skin, now its smooth with lot of additional handy features which Oxygen OS clearly miss. Anyday you can install third party launcher from play store to change look and feel of a phone on any android device.
Battery : Both are having 3300mAh battery. I felt Asus battery pretty average on first day but when I did available Zen update and switched on the AI, from there it worked pretty well and easily lasts complete day.
Charging: OP6 takes lead here with its Dash charging technology, but Asus 5z also support fast charging and it will charge 70% in half hour. If you enable AI then it will learn your charging habits and change the speed sometimes to maintain overall battery health and life. For example, in day time it charges quickly and in night time after 80% it will do slow charging or deep charging.
After sales service: Asus takes lead here and this is somewhere my reason to buy this device. They have more service centres in India than Oneplus. Asus confirmed doorstep pickup and delivery of a phone in terms of manufacturing defects and will handover other flagship level phone until it gives your phone back.
Asus 5z is phenominal device considering its price which is 9k less than OP6 (top end version with Axis bank discount).
Verdict: Both are truly great phones and one must go according to his/her priorities. If Selfie matters you the most then I would suggest OnePlus6 and when Sound and money matters you most with little compromise in Front camera then Asus 5z is deal breaker.
