Reasonably good gaming laptop

I bought this laptop after a great deal of reasearch. Games like Far Cry 4, Assasins creed work on low and medium settings. Very resonsive and smooth touch pad. Speakers are of superior quality. It fulfills all the roles like gaming as well as presentation, etc. It is a value for money product.

This is an excellent laptop in terms of specs, performance and feel. However I purchased this laptop for installing multiple OS. Except windows all other OS have a problem with the mouse (both touchpad and external mouse). This problem is apparently because Asus configures its devices only for windows. So think before you buy. If you are going to use only Windows, this is the laptop for you.

Definitely the best computer I've owned so far. Definitely was worth every penny.
Design: 4/5
Very sleek, nice design for the most part. Keyboard feels nice to type on. USB connectors secure in drives and cables. Mouse pad is definitely not the greatest, sometimes multitouch interferes with usage. However, swipe to change programs is a nice touch.
Specs: 5/5
For the price, I doubt you will find better laptop specs. Core i7 4th Gen, 2GB Graphics, 4GBs RAM, and 750GB hard drive. RAM and hard drive could use upgrades, however you will definitely be able to run most games you throw at this laptop at playable speeds.
Sound: 3/5
Probably the biggest failing point of this laptop is the sound system. Speakers are located on the bottom of the laptop, and are very tinny. Use headphones for best sound quality, and use the "Dance" preset for best sound quality from the built in speakers.
Graphics: 4/5
All games I've played on this will run just fine. Graphically intensive games usually run between 20-40FPS.

I bought this laptop about 8 days back. Amazing amazing laptop...!!!! It runs very smooth. I am using tools like AUTO CAD and MAT LAB without any glitches.
It just does not get hot, be it the base or the place where we generally rest our palm.
the Seller is also very nice. the packaging and bill were all fine. all the invoices for taxes paid on it were there in the package itself.
Really a Hassle-free buying experience.

Purchased this product for INR 48490 through Amazon during the Diwali sale offers. I found that there was nothing special about Diwali Offers on Amazon this time. Although it was available at better price on other online portal, I still went for it due to the exchange (Old for New) offer benefit. The exchange experience was not very good one.Product (X550LC-XX015H) experience is as under:1. Window 8 is excellent. It came preloaded with all Asus Apps was far more pleasing.2. Mouse pad is not that cool. I guess, Asus can take inspiration from Dell for that.3. The bill came duly signed was a very good sight to see from an online portal. However, the serial number was incorrect! Due diligence was not done by the seller. Nonethless, getting a new bill was a very smooth exercise and I needed to exchange just 2 mails for same.4. HD webcam is good.5. Though it claims to be a 4GB RAM powered by core i7 processor, I did not find the machine very fast. Infact there was hardly any visible difference compared to my Dell 4GB RAM powered by Core i3 processor which I exchanged for Asus. It falters when you try to multi-task (viz, installing more than 1 application at a time).6. Asus is never known for a good Battery and sorrowfully this one is no exception.7. Asus Har Pal Diwali Offer is still pending. They are still reviewing my registration to avail INR 12499 worth of goods for INR 1199 ONLY as claimed in the advertisement. If I can avail the offer ONLY then probably it would make sense of purchasing the product on Diwali Offer but then, that will be by Asus and NOT by Amazon. So on this front probably the value add by Amazon is NIL.In all, still satisfied with the product since the Service Centre of Dell had become a pain.
