Sleek and Portable

I've been using this beautiful notebook for two week now and I am quite glad I bought it.
Pros:
Extremely Light Weight and Thin
Beautiful
Outstanding Battery Life
Free Office 365 for an year (it's awesome)
No Noise (It's fan-less)
Decent Speed (no lags)
Decent Keyboard (more about this later)
Good Screen (much better than those 1366*768, 15.6 inches though)
Cons:
Limited Storage (I find it adequate though)
Feeble Speakers
No USB 3.0 (I miss this)
No Full HDMI (I need to get an adapter asap)
Storage:
You get around 19GB of free space, which does gets filled up quickly after you install office 365 and few applications. I've added a 32GB Micro-SD card, and it does meet my requirements. I use my external 1TB HD for storing everything heavy though.
This notebook runs smooth but it's not for any heavy task at all. I've installed the following software and everything's snappy.
Avast Free Antivirus(minimal), Google Chrome, Code Blocks, Netbeans, MySQL, BitTorrent, FDM, Office 365, Dos-Box, Notepad++ and K-Lite Codec Pack.
After installing all this, I am left with 11GB of free space in my primary drive. I don't use MicroSD card for installing programs.
Input/Output:
The Keyboard on this thing is actually quite good, I regained my typing speed within 10 minutes, though after 2 weeks, I think the keyboard is actually kinda fragile. The feedback is good but sometimes few keys move as if they might come out, nothing has happened though.
The trackpad is fine, it took me sometime to get used it but it's a decent one.
I love it's display, it's much better than my other 15 and 14 inches laptops. Text is crisp and color reproduction is okay.
Processing Speed:
I run google chrome with 4-5 tabs with Word at absolutely no lag. It's performance is good enough for web surfing and word editing. It's more or less an entertainment device with few capabilities of a production device.
Final Words:
As a second device it is a very good device. I use it to take notes in my class, and while travelling. I can even code some short class assignments. I bought it for my primary laptop is extremely heavy with very short battery life. MacBook air is expensive and thus, this acts a perfect device to fill the gap.
I do all my serious tasks on my main laptop and do all the others on this. I'll admit, that lately I've been using this more than my main laptop.
In all, it's a good device for students who work mostly on web and for those who prefer battery life, portability and looks over performance.
Recommended.
Great laptop, worth buying!

I've been using this laptop for a week now and it's been more than worth its price. The processing speed is like a dream. I'm a student, so I often have to toggle between several types of documents all at once, like pdf, word, spreadsheets and images, I haven't experienced any types of glitches or delays. It even seamlessly navigates between multiple desktops. The mouse touch pad is really precise and sensitive. The keyboard works well.
There's one small but annoying bug that I'll mention. It's a utility called "ASUS Splendid Video Enhancer" which is a straight off bloatware and a nuisance. It will keep reverting your custom display calibration to make it have a high gamma, washed out colors, etc. every time you restart, or put PC to sleep. But don't worry, just go to "Add or Remove Programs" in Control Panel and unistall that. It doesn't affect anything.
The default Groove media package has a bit low sound output (which might be suitable for some), so I'd suggest you play media in others like VLC Player.
But other than these, go for it! It's packed with all the features needed for an all purpose use and a budget buy worth its price for students.
Worth it 200%

I am a movie fanatic, art student and love big displays.I sold off my previous smartphone and laptop and thought of buying 'redmi note 3' but after hearing about this laptop's big battery life and its low weight(980 grams) I have finally decided to buy it as i cud get full windows functionality.
Its been 6 months since im using it.Initially I thought that this device wont cope with intensive programs like photoshop or gimp but I have recently installed my old wacom bamboo and Gimp on it and it works like magic!Anyways u cant do heavy layered image editing.Moderate work is fine.It works best for digital painting work.
I dont know about Photoshop but Gimp works well.
Regarding the battery backup with moderate usage of wifi its giving me 10 hrs on full charge and exactly 12 hrs when wifi's turned off.
I suggest you to buy the violet colour over other fancy colours like red, white, gold as it feels decent.Anyways color choice is upto you.Buying this device was the best decision I have made.
In one word-Beast
Awesome!! total Value for money

been using this since 2 months.. impressed with the battery backup, speedy load time, trackpad easy to use.The asus gesture is quite helpful during browsing, the trackpad is smooth and accurate. I personally don't play games on laptop so this will be solely for browsing and going through documents and checking mail, the matte finish is nice but easily catches smudge/ fingerprints. Overall the netbook is good for light work.

the asus x205 ta ebook was a good buy as per my personal experiance , first the build quality was awesome , but missing some major features, my review after 15 days useage laptop.
build quality : 5 stars
battery : 5 stars ( approx 8-10 hours )
screen : 4 stars
browsing speed : 4 stars for modarate use , not for heavy tasks ..
HDD : 3 stars ( only 11 gb available after install win 10 and ms office 365
HDD WAS 500 GB GOOD OPTION , ASUS SHOULD CONSIDER
wifi reception was good , but finally missed lanport , my recommend was asus 500 gb windows 10 14 " was better option..

I am completely stunt by this little wonder. This laptop went way beyond to all my expectations. I bought it from Flipkart at 13,792 (with a promo from SBI), that made it around 5k cheaper than my phone! Frankly speaking I was not expecting much from this machine except being my second screen, from where I can do ssh and take some class notes, that's all! But using it more than one month I can say this proved to be better than my expectations.
> It handles 1080p video playing/streaming like a boss.
> No issues in Google chorme performance.
> Being 768p screen in 11.6inch dimension, it's a lot denser than the equivalent 15.6in screen of same pixels count, Hence better looking display.
> Keyboard is good for typing and gives good feedback.
> Some windows app (like Gaana, VLC) made life easy, as they can run on background, while your netbook is sleeping. That means you can play a playlist in sleeping mode!
> And then comes the battery! It can easily stretched out to 8-9 hours with sometimes heavy to moderate usage. I watched the entire India vs West Indies match and battery dropped from 89% to 61%. Period.
> Speakers are audible enough for one small room. Then again what more you can expect from this little guy?
> It doesn't overheats normally except during charging.
> It supports 128GB microSDXC cards. So no problem in secondary storage. You can easily set default media locations , download locations to SD card and you are done with inbuilt memory limitations. However I would be very happy if this came with 4GB RAM :(
That being said, there are some caveats. Like if you push read/writing speed of your SD card, it will start to clog.(say downloading a torrent at 4MB/s and watching a movie at the same time stored in SD card). Secondly, if you are considering installing Arch or Ubuntu, it's a big mess, This comes with 32bit OS and 32bit bootloader. So you have to google a bit to figure out what needs to be done for proper installing. Moreover, linux community doesn't support sound driver for this sound card as of now. So sound won't work, unfortunately!
Still I really like this netbook because of its lightness and battery backup! Go ahead, you won't be disappointed.
Best NetBook at that kind of price point

Perfect small wonder !
By EcoVentoon
This laptop is very much recommended for day-to-day basic work, office, photoshop work, music composing, browsing, no lags or crashes whatsoever, ASUS nailed it in this small segment by putting this device below 1kg. not suitable for gamers, heavy graphic work, etc.
Tested battery last until 10 hours with 90% browsing and 10% MS office work.
