Fabulous powerhouse and a beautiful device
By Krishna Chaitanya 'KC'on
This is probably my first proper purchase of an Apple device. I am not a crazy Apple fan, but boy is this device A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!I would compare this to listening to music on headphones made for audiophiles. You start to notice the instruments or notes you've always missed in songs. Use this laptop and you will start to notice how much faster everything can be. No load times at all. You will start to miss those for a short while. I've been using the same internet connection (Jio Dongle) but my webpages load so much faster. Rendering a video, no problem, does it much faster than your average device. All thanks to the Kaby lake processors. While getting similar parts and building a machine is cheaper, you are definitely paying a well deserved premium for the product.* The build quality is super neat. No creaks or wiggle anywhere.* The screen is beautiful and has a really good contrast ratio. You'll notice deeper blacks.* The keyboard seems fine to me. I didn't feel the need to get used to it and it had enough key travel. This is probably also because it is a 2017 model. (Always check the model number on the Apple website before making a purchase)* The brightness of the screen is ample. The keyboard, touchbar and the screen adjust to ambient lighting.* I wasn't never able to hear the fans and the device doesn't get too hot with regular browsing. CPU-intensive tasks like rendering videos or compiling code will heat up the device a slight bit but not something that will burn your lap.* I found the touchbar useful – Instead of using the trackpad to move the cursor to the action buttons on a pop-up dialog box, I would just hit the buttons displayed on the touchbar. I've installed an app switcher for the touchbar but didn't use this. You can touch and drag the volume and brightness level buttons to increase or decrease the levels. However, sometimes you might not be able to drag to the full length. If I no longer had the touchbar, I wouldn't miss it.*The Mac OS is nothing short of brilliant and super user friendly. The experience is similar across apps. For example, I hardly use the browser back button – I swipe with two fingers on the trackpad. Did I mention it is ginormous? It is larger than my mobile phone.* The speakers on this are probably the best I've heard to, on a laptop. It gives you a really bassy output and ample surround effects. Trust me you will be surprised by the surround on this one.Cons:The only con I could find until now, is the keyboard noise. While it is alright when you are in a public place, typing on it during the night when your partner is fast asleep by your side (or a library – who visits a library these days?) is one noisy affair! You will have to be a tortoise to keep it quiet. This isn't a con but the machine isn't as light as the 13 inch Macbook Pro. This one is close to 4 kilos if I am not wrong but it is definitely sleek. Given the performance, this is not an issue at all.I cannot end this without a mention of the USB Type-C ports. Even Apple doesn't have devices that support this (except for adapters). You will have to buy dongles.
Great Mac laptop!
By Prashankon
Using it for about a month and so far so good. Performance has been pretty good, it never slowed me down. The keyboard, however, was a bit flaky, In the first week of use some keys were acting up, either they wouldn't type anything or double type, pressing the key with a bit more force fixed the issue and the same key never acted up again, it was always a different key and at random location, so it was not focused on a specific spot. Haven't had these keyboard issues after the first week, I assume it was something to do with being brand new and after some use, it's been normal.I do like the feel of the keys though, but touchbar has been pretty useless to me as a developer so far, needs better support in more apps. Battery lasts at least 8 hours doing pretty much anything at about 60% brightness. The screen is amazing and sound is amazing, in case you're wondering.Overall it's a great laptop, and there's not like you have many options if you want a Mac laptop, just buy a USB type C to type A adapter, and also, keep the keyboard clean...
The second best laptop money can buy!
By Vedant Kaushikon
Bought this from an offline store under some Diwali discount scheme for 1,74,000 (about the same price that it's available on amazon at the time of this review).Have been a Mac user for the past three years so was not skeptical investing a huge chunk of money in a capable and powerful machine. Handles video editing like nothing else, specially in final cut pro. The screen is simply amazing, and the laptop is incredibly portable. Won't go into the design of the device since it's almost universally agreed that Apple laptops are the epitome of beauty.Went for the 15-inch version for the dedicated graphic card as my work involves a lot of graphic intensive work, plus I had to upgrade from my three year old MacBook Air.All in all, wonderful laptop in the last week of usage that I have got out of it, only expect it to get better.

Sleek finish! I am absolutely in love with the quality of picture and sound. Touch bar is amazing and the touch pad is extravagant. Each of everything functions really smooth. Kudos Apple engineers !!
