Hell of an AWESOME GAMING Keyboard by Logitech!!!
By Arindam Debnathon
I purchased the Logitech G105 gaming keyboard from Flipkart on 16th December 2013 and it was delivered to me on 22nd December.
Packaging by PRASAD COMPUTERS was extremely good. The keyboard took me around 20 mins to unpack only!
It is the most economical, yet sturdy Gaming keyboard from Logitech's stable!
Out of the box, the keyboard's design is very decent and looks great, especially when powered on. It is a USB 2.0 keyboard and its completely ready for use out of the box.
No CD installation or drivers are required. Just plug-n- play! Only a 50 MB Logitech Gaming Software is required for the G-keys to be functional.
The whole keyboard's keys are blue back-lit, with a switch to change the brightness of the back-lit to 50%, 100% or to turn off completely, when back-lighting is not required.
In the dark, the keyboard is a beauty to look at! Each and every key is clearly visible, even in pitch dark, thanks to the back lighting!
The build quality of the keys is very good and sturdy, and feels premium to the palms.
The keys can really tackle very hard and rough key presses, which most of us do while gaming hard!
Also the keys are soft to press, and typing is a breeze, even in the dark!
This keyboard has 6 programmable G-Keys and three modes for each of the six keys, which means a total of 18 programmable and completely user customisable functions and macros can be stored in the keyboard's memory. This is very useful, especially while gaming to quick access to various complex moves and actions within a very short time!
It also supports up-to 5 multi key inputs and anti ghosting feature, which means, no input lags and each and every key press is registered perfectly in the same sequence as it is pressed, without any overlapping.
it also includes a Gaming/desktop mode switch to disable the windows key while gaming to prevent interruption from accidentally pressing the windows key while gaming!
PROS:
1) Very slim design keyboard, fits in tackiest spaces also.
2) G Keys make access to various complex functions with one key press.
3) Blue back lighting which is helpful while using the PC in the dark or lowly lit atmosphere.
4) Sturdy build, meant to last long.
5) Budget friendly gaming keyboard.
CONS:
1) The G-keys get time used to, and often may be pressed mistakenly for CTRL, TAB, CAPS-LOCK and Left SHIFT keys.
2) Logitech could provide more brightness levels for the keyboard back-light,some keys feel lowly lit.
Overall its a very good keyboard for the budget gamer, and also for the everyday PC user.
If you are on a tight budget and don't want to invest much on a gaming keyboard, then surely go for Logitech G105 Gaming Keyboard! Logitech never did, and never will disappoint its customers with its top notch class products.
Its worth every penny you shell out to buy this cool gaming keyboard!
I would recommend this keyboard to everyone within this price range.
Good Keyboard, couple of things to look out for
By Mathew Thomason
Overall this is a good keyboard, but a few things to watch out for if you are a used to a traditional keyboard.
One, the G-keys on the left are a hindrance. When you want to press CTRL you reach for the bottom left on a traditional keyboard and if you do this instinctively with this keyboard, you hit the G5 key. Same for the TAB SHIFT and ESC keys.
Two, the key tops are smaller than that of a "normal" or non-gaming keyboard, so if you have the "fat finger" you tend to often hit the key adjacent to the key you want to actually hit.
Three, to disable G keys during normal typing, you need to download and install the Logitech Gaming Software. You need to install this in Administrator mode.
You will however get used to first two issues in a couple of days, especially if you disable the G keys.
Awesome budget-friendly keyboard
By Sanjiv Mon
Bought this keyboard 3 months ago, and so far no issues. Mainly I play more fps and tps games and found no ghosting..
After buying this you wouldn't ask for a better keyboard.
I wish this had wrist rest, but its okay, I have no issues of it. :)
OK keyboard, terrible packaging by Prasad Computers.
By Nabarun Royon
It wasn't available on WS retail, so I had to get it from a different seller here, called Prasad Computers. They took 5 days to send it, and they just wrapped it in one of those thin plasticky anti-static-looking thingys, which was extremely flimsy and I'm surprised the keyboard survived the travel from Delhi to Kolkata. That said, the keyboard works OK. The keys are a BIT harder to actuate than normal keyboards, and the keys themselves are a little more far apart from each other. Not particularly helpful if you want something soft and within reach for fast typing. Also, the G-keys on the left column can be a bit of a problem, since they replace your normal keys on the extreme left. I have programmed them to work like normal keys - Esc, Tilde, Tab, Caps, LShift and RCtrl. The lighting is uniform and works fine. However, there's not enough friction (rubber pad etc) on the bottom to prevent sliding. Most importantly, the USB cable is not separate. So if your cable gets twisted or damaged then the whole thing is dead.
