Tilt mechanism not sturdy and was faulty in the one delivered today

The product delivered to me had a faulty tilt mechanism, It wouldn't stay fixed in upright position and kept rocking. I tried fastening the screws on either sides, as mentioned in the user guide, but still was not stable. I was not confident to start using it and so had to return it instantly.
