I just got the grinder and I got it working for idli batter.Mom says the batter is "light" aka airy. So hopefully so have great idlis tmrw. Will be eager to see how it turns out.I thought of helping other to understand how "big" the steel drum is:I weighed (with weighing scale) that it can hold 5.25litre of water. That means:1) 2litre of wet grinder = 5.25litre of water holding capacity2) 1litre of wet grinder = 2.7litre of water holding capacity (I simply halved it. I don't own 1litre wet grinder)This should help you to understand how "BIG" ACTUALLY the steel drum is. Will update the review in coming months.Happy grinding!25 Sep 2017:Using this for almost 3 months. Working great. Batter turns out wonderful and fluffy.1) One tip: After you are done grinding remove batter in a atleast 1litre + large container than usual as the batter ferments well and becomes fluffy. Earlier we used to remove in our regular patela... But noticed the batter spills overnight during fermenting. So switched to larger patela.2) I also read some comments about lose lid.... Well I think the lid is not suppose to fit AIR TIGHT... Otherwise how do you imagine air to get into the batter while grinding??!!!If you are gentle and kind enough the lid should last you years if YOU ARE CAREFUL.3) Batter that we make in this usually half the drum capacity last us one week and use it three times a week. Mom grinds on Saturday... Use it for the week following. We family of 3 maharashtraian with average skills of making idli dosa. But this machine helps you reach better level with batter quality.4) It is not noisy at all. If you are used to television volume at normal level you won't even notice this machine working at all.5) We usually grinder dal & rice together and leave it to run for 45min without bothering it. Idlis and dosa turns out fantastic. Idlis are soft, paper dosa is actually paper dosa and uttapa actually soft and fluffy.6) While grinding place the lid as it might get splashed a little. Not too much but little.7) You will stop using mixer grinder for idli grinding for generations to come.8) Add water while grinding in interval of 10-15min untill you figure out the consistency. Once confident then you can add at once.9) Scoop out the batter with regular Karchi. After than remove the conical stones in big plate and you can scoop the batter with hands.10) They give the scooper white in colour but my mom's is more comfortable with hands than that plastic device.11) The motor heats up midly in 45min... Not much. That should bother you.12) Wash it yourself, wipe dry and assemble and keep it. Last thing you want is maid to handle stones roughly.13) I like the design as it is easy to use and understand without not much over do.When I get married I'm going to purchase one more of this and take it with me as "Dahej" :PBest product on Amazon I ever purchased!==========18 May 2018:The Grinder continues to work smoothly.PS: I haven't got married yet, so don't have a chance to buy new grinder as I continue live in my maiden home.Oh but my brother is getting married in next month.Byeeeee=====================

product,working, etc etc etc evrything is awesome UTLRA is the brand which my mom using from past 15years, so even i have choosen same brand, but that plastic LID is looking very fragile, we have to take utmost care for it.. once broken finding another is difficult also damn costly.otherwise its super productu might get same 2 ltr for 3000-4000 in other brands, but go for utlra, i personally recommend it OLD IS GOLD
