I purchased one from a shop for ?1500. 32 Ohm headphone. Means it is powerful. Very few Sennheiser are 32 ohm within ?5000. 15Hz-27000 Hz frequency range. I don't know if human ear can hear them all. But in this one, you will hear more sounds, instruments and clearly than most which cost upto 5000 rupees. Case to carry- those who use headphones often will know that wires do get cracked when carrying these. Case is important to prolong its life. Metal strip in the band- even expensive headphones are plastic made and ignore to add metal strip. The design is simple but sturdy than others which just look heavy. Only thing is it won't completely block outside noise. That does not stop me from rating it five stars!

Best i have heard till now. Pros: -Portable -Trendy -Best sound quality in all range ( treble and bass ) -Will make your friend jealous (specially when you pack or unpack it in the trendy box, i got a comment from my friend, its RAJNI headphone ...lol) Cons: -Noise cancellation is little weak since, its doesn't fit your ear completely, may be at very noisy place you will be able listen less of songs. Otherwise its a must buy for life time. My words "Life me essa ek headphone hona hi chahiye"

Decided to do this review when I saw that my fav headphones had only 21 ratings and the overall rating was not 5/5. Got these 2 years back @ a Delhi shopping mall when I returned the Phillips headphones I'd bought earlier which had low vol (d/t high impedance). I was planning to buy some "audiophile" gear but without too much dough to spare! Wanted to listen to the next pair before buying but they were all seal-packed. Salesguy lent me his own PX80 and I was relieved that the vol was adequate. Other people took a listen and said the sound was nice. I thought I should try Sennheiser and so these came home with me. Started listening to diff genres on my android phone. Rock, trance, rap, western classical, Indian classical, blues, jazz all sounded better than on any other headphone I had ever used. Bass is loud and punchy but not overpowering. The mids are pronounced. Treble is clear. I am no expert but, for what it's worth, I'd say that the sound is rich, mellow, natural (like I'm sitting inside the studio with John Lee Hooker on stage!). I have read that these headphones have a "dark sound signature"(i.e. low treble) but I find treble adequate for my taste and proportionate to the mids and lows (some of my in-ear earphones do have more pronounced treble). To put it another (my) way, some high-end headphones seem to aim for extreme sound clarity at the expense of bass while others put so much bass that the headphones become unsuitable for certain genres. These Sennheiser headphones fall in the middle which is a good thing for me (but some people might find them bass heavy). When I found out how nice they were, I went searching on the net to learn more. What I found was that Sennheiser made a model PX100 for the global market which they subsequently replaced with another version. The old model PX100 had a legendary reputation like the Yamaha RX100 had in India and both are no longer in production. It seems that PX80 might be the old model PX100 marketed by another model number in India (I'm not sure). Apparently these are "open" design headphones which are easier to "drive" than "closed" designs. Which means that these will not give you much noise cancellation. You will hear your neighbours talking, cars honking, babies crying unless you crank the volume up...... others in the library might give you ugly glances and the airhostess might find out that your phone/mp3 player is on during take-off (if volume is cranked upwards) . Since these are easier to drive, they provide great sound at a low price. To provide equal sound quality using a "closed" design would cost 10 times more and might need an amplifier circuit. I looked at headphone ratings on "audiophile" sites and the PX100 was ranked among top 10 headphones (the other high rankers costing 10 - 20 times more.....maybe because they were mostly closed designs). These headphones are foldable and come with a hard plastic carrying case (so you can throw them inside your suitcase without fear of them getting crushed/bent). I stopped using that case long ago (some people would call my handling rough) but they are still alive and kicking. The headphones don't look too bad but I've seen sleeker models. They are comfortable enough. There are paddings on the band and the foampad on the earpiece is adequate. Headband length is adjustable and it has a metal spine. Earpieces are swivel. You can take them jogging, gymming etc. without any problems as they are lightweight. Plus, out in the street, you'll hear what's going on around you if you keep the volume low, which I feel is safer than total isolation. But sometimes the foampad comes off the earpiece but is easily put back. I wish I could get some branded replacements for these but alas they cost $9.95(shipping additional) on Amazon! I guess I'll have to try out any non-branded ones I can find. Bottomline: Balanced sound. Punchy bass (Trance and HipHop sound great) but not overpowering. Feels like you are sitting inside the recording studio(blues/jazz). Treble adequate but not too pronounced. Foldable. Rigid carrying case. Not much noise cancellation/isolation. Sennheiser brandname. Branded replacement foam pads cost $9.95(shipping additional) but there may be other options. May or may not be sleek enough if you are looking for "flaunt value". Hope this long-winded review helps some people out. But I'd like to point out again that I'm no headphone expert! Personally, all I know is that when this pair gives up, I'll be going in for another pair of the same.

This is a good headset but does not fulfill my need. Was using Plantronics audio 655 usb but needed another. Bought this since the reviews were so good, particularly about Dragon speech recognition... but am not satisfied. This is a review after a week of use... Pros: - Lightweight - Easy auto installation plug and play on win 7, 8.x and 10. - Long wire, Mic on and off switch with volume control. - Headphone is standard Sennheiser quality - no doubts about that, bass and treble are balanced, Great and clear audio. Cons: - Body is of weak construction. - Wire is too thin. One has to be really careful with it. Any jerk and there is serious danger of snapping. - Microphone is too far away from the mouth (1.25 inches) to pick up voice in basic ambient noise. Not sensitive enough for speech recognition. One has to be in a totally silent environment for Dragon speech recognition to work. Or very loud in speaking and enunciation. This is after two three weeks of training the software on a Plantronics .Audio 655 USB Multimedia Headset. I do not wish to compare but Plantronics is way ahead of the Sennheiser headset when it comes to speech recognition. I bought that on Flipkart in February 2013. It was not so expensive then. Anyways, the Sennheiser PC 8 USB is useful within its range of performance. If you are looking for dedicated high quality performance device - pay more for better quality and performance. 4 stars only because of weak construction and reduced mic sensitivity.

This is really great product. PROS 1) Good headphone sound quality great with VOIP calls and also listening songs. 2) Good mic delivers crisp clear sound to receiver. 3) Long 2 meter wire. This is long enough. Cons: minimum volume using headphone volume controller cannot be reduced below one level. I use both headphone and laptop volume controller to control volume hence this is not any issue if you ready with this solution.

I bought this to use the inbuilt microphone on Dragon NaturallySpeaking, a very popular speech recognition software product. I've used a number of other headphones with Dragon – no-brand ones by the likes of iBall and Quantum and also namebrand models like Microsoft LifeChat and the Plantronics Audio DSP 400. The Sennheiser PC 8 USB, though, gives me the best results that I've ever experienced with Dragon. I easily get an accuracy rate of 95%. The reason could be that this Sennheiser model has noise canceling, while the others I used did not. It can be hard to compare, though, because when I used the other namebrand models, I was on Dragon 10 and Dragon 11. Now, I am on Dragon 12. I've used other non-branded headset microphones on Dragon 12 and got reasonable results ( 75% accuracy). With the Sennheiser, though,life has suddenly become much easier. While I mainly bought this headset for the microphone, the headphones are quite good, too. Poor bass, but good, loud and pleasant-sounding audio, overall.

I'm not much of a see-review-and-then-buy guy. The other review I saw here is absolute BS. I bought this a couple days back and must say that I'm satisfied. The other reviewer saying Avoid this etc. to him I say Go buy a speaker and stuff it into your ..umm.. ears!!! For the rest- if you want sound clarity and excellent mic GO FOR THIS.. without doubt and delay. Also the default packaging by the company itself is superb .. don't know how Flipkart packs it on top of that 'coz I didn't buy this from flipkart but from Chandni in Kolkata.. And Sennheiser as always never fails its customers! About the mic, I personally tested it with Google speech button in Google search and other sites .. and everytime it gives right results .. treble part absolutely flawless but for further better bass quality you'll have to increase your budget .. a lot.. also no hassles of safely remove stuff... just plug and play the build quality could have been better but i guess that is tolerable given the other plus points- the main points- headphone and mic quality... One star less for the cons (build quality and potential for further bass improvement and price is slightly on the higher side) as I am a stickler for perfection...! Have a good day , ya all.. !
