History with Sennheiser Hd 202- Epic, after 1 year i rediscovered them, phenomenal. Cx 175- Superb noice cancellation Hd 439- My 3rd Senn cans in a year. Just got so inclined towards this musical world of Sennheiser, couldn't even think of any other brand. They are stylish and have unimaginable comfort for the price. I am going from Hd 202 to Hd 439. So, now my Hd 439 is new and Hd 202 is 1 yr old. At this point Hd 202 is just the clear winner because thay are already burnt in. Hd 439 out of the box It's very soft sound, the bass is also on the softer side, with clear vocals. It requires at least 20-100 hrs burn in. But i know after burning these they are going to outclass Hd 202. Wait and watch. Burning these cans extremely important. Amplifier is always good it improves audio quality. These also runs fine with smartphones of branded companies. My ultimate dream is to buy Hd 598- The mercedez of headphones Cant go wrong with any Senn's cans. Kudos to Flipkart i got it in very low price, the price was only for some minutes, i ordered immediately. Also got the latest Jun 2014 stock with serial no. Flipkart is a big company now after Myntra acquisition, keep up the good work. Well after doing an extensive research for about a month with fluctuating budgets and being spoilt for choices.... After laying my hands on this beast(metaphorically speakin, its compact nd light weight) I certainly made the right choice... The best utility that these headphones offer are 2 detachable cords of 1.3 nd 3m for both in house nd on the go listening... And they are aesthetically very pleasing nd looks good wen u wear it over your head... Coming to the sound quality... they literally go berserk on the Bass and are monstrous.... i have not been able to let go off my ears since i got them because they are just so good on both highs on lows and very comfortable 2 wear... And since there is always a "BUT", d only downside is that they dont have a vry good output on Samsung or nokia mobiles...(but works wonders on an apple product) So if U are willing to spend in excess Rs 3500 for a pair of headphones... Then these headphones are the answer to all your questions!!!!!!!

Well I've burned this in for 20-25 hrs and I finally think time is nigh to write a review. Pros: 1) Music Quality 2) Detachable Cables 3) Bass 4) Comfort 5) Sennheiser Warranty Cons: (Conditional) 1) Portability 2) Lack of carry pouch 3) Lack of a Disclaimer that says:"BURN IN REQUIRED" To begin with the flipkart delivery was slow for the first time ever, though considering the distance and the fog it was'nt bad altogether. The packaging was solid as ever. When I first opened these bad boys and heard the sound, I was a bit disappointed. The amplification was low , the bass negligible. I knew that it needed to be burned in but I was afraid that even with the burn in the quality could only improve by a little margin. How wrong was I! These headphones have transformed after each period of gradual burn in. 6 hrs: EDM and Dubstep started to come alive. The bass was still lacking and genres like metal and rock did'nt sound good. 10hrs+: Bass got a little better. An effective surround sound could be heard while watching movies. Metal still was'nt good enough 20hrs+: This is where you'll realize how much burn in can effect these cans. Every genre will rock your world. Watching movies will give you a proper theater experience. Listening to Hans Zimmer and Ludvico Enaudi will take to another dimension. In the beginning i had to amp up my computer volume to 90% to get decent sound, now I have to keep it to 50% to ensure I still have my hearing 10 years from now. Even at high volumes, there is no distortion, the mids are great, the highs are so crisp and clear that you will be forced to hear only high bit rate songs as it will play every detail of the track. The bass is clear and packs a punch, does'nt go BOOM but gives you ample bass to make the music balanced, which makes this a must buy for an audiophile in the 4-5k range. These are simply too big to be used outdoors unless you wanna be attracting a lot of unwanted stares. The comfort is just too good. You can easily wear this for hours on end without any discomfort, I even fell asleep wearing these. Many people complain that the build is plasticly, well what are you expecting under 5k. The build is as solid as it can be and sennheiser's excellent warranty is always there to watch your back. The noise cancellation is decent, you wont hear anything while the music is playing, although the people sitting beside you will. All in all if you love your music and want to buy something in this range that is well balanced for all genres, look no further. On this note I will also say that you might find a product slightly better than this at a better rate. Go for this anyway. In fact always go for a sennheiser when you have the choice, the warranty covers physical damage as well and for 2 years your will get back every bit of what you spent.

This is the first Circumaural headphone that I've bought since I started using the cheap in-the-ear headphones packed with mobile phones. I'm not an audiophile but here are some of the features that stand out to be unique in these headphones. These are the PROS in my opinion: - Every Sennheiser HD 4X9 headphone has a thin wire and that could raise second thoughts about the build quality and the life of the wire. Unlike every other headphone in the mentioned series, Sennheiser HD 439 features detachable cables which is a huge relief in terms of security. It also provides two cables of different lengths for different purposes. - The Sound Quality is undoubtedly better than your default cheap headphones. Unexpectedly, the bass feels natural rather than artificial. This was a very important feature for me. I tested the Sony MDR-XB400 and it's bass feels like it's been "forcefully combined with the music" or artificial. You'll also hear lows pitches that you've never heard before but this will happen only in specific genres like Electronic, Rock and Metal. Although bollywood songs do sound better but most of them sound the same. Music composed by Combichrist, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Poets of the Fall and Greenday really sounds better. - These headphones are extremely comfortable. If you've never used Circumaural headphones before, you'll experience a certain feeling that your ears have been deprived of air. This feeling will make you uncomfortable on the first day but there were no such problems after day one. I can wear these headphones for 10+ hours without the need to remove them. These are the CONS in my opinion: - The Build Quality does feel flimsy but I may very well be wrong because I have tried these for a month with care and there are no signs of any damage. Consider this con eliminated if you're able to keep your headphones healthy. - One of the primary reasons why I bought these headphones was Noise Isolation and I wasn't satisfied. They do muffle the ambient noise but the level of noise that they reduce is almost unnoticeable. If, however, you start playing music at a low volume, most of the noise is muffled. This is probably the side effect of the high comfort provided by the cloth pads on the cans. Conclusion: +1 for Sound Quality, Comfort and Detachable Cables -1 for Build Quality(Not Sure?) and Noise Isolation.
