Decent , lil overpriced replacement for stock earphones

By Devashish Pandeyon
ATTENTION: This headset now doesn't come with the extention for Nokia/Old Samsung/SE jacks.. Big minus Philips.. However you can make it with lil bit Jugaad. Audio is decent. bass is real and deep (not fake - it appears where it actually is). Highs are also decent. Best part about this headset is its size, so small that it literally disappears in the ears. PS. It needs a little burn in before you come to know its actual capabilities. When u'll first plug this headset in, it will sound like an ordinary 200Rs headset. BUt. leave it playing in high volumes for an hour or so.. then u'll realize that the headset is a real bliss.. awesome balance of highs, lows at a perfect volume and surround effect. I think it'd be better for philips to burn this in before packaging. But still, it is little overpriced. It should have been priced between 500-600 by philips, as there is not much difference between Samsung EHS44 (@Rs 425) and this one (@Rs 775). This is only a marginal upgrade. (and Samsung EHS44 has better build quality than this one I felt). Philips has also stripped down the extra extension/adapter from the packaging, so the price must go down. I felt like cheated when I saw the extension missing :( My purpose of buying this one was to use a single headset for my old Samsung Shark and any new Samsung/HTC/Sony phone , which philips has shattered. :(. Giving this a 3* due to this SUDDEN change in packaging.

Sound quality is ok.. Less bass.. Not worth the money.. poor quality of material used.. you'll definitely regret if you buy it..

A decent compatible headset

By Sujit Ravvaon
I've been using stock headset from Sony Ericsson for more than a year now. But I wanted a decent headset for music (I don't use it much of hands-free so don't know about the quality of microphone). I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and am comfortable with the music. The Good: 1) Blocks out external noise to a minimum. (better than stock) 2) Bass and treble are decent. 3) Compatible with major phone sets 4) The music controls work for Sony (headset button 1 click- play/pause, 2 clicks- next song, 3 clicks - prev song ... same as stock headset and this is the part which I most like) The Bad: The wire is too thin... Don't know when it might snap.. but since it's from Philips I guess it will be of good quality. The Ugly: Though it is compatible with major phones, they have given an extension for the headphones to be compatible with SE, Nokia and Samsung (without extension works with BB, HTC, Apple, LG and Moto) ... And since I have SE ... It is kinda ugly with the extension...

Very good fit for Google nexus4

I need to use the mobile headset frequently for taking long office conference calls. Before settling for this; I tried several other headsets (including some of the costly ones) with my my google nexus4 - none of the worked well; there were voice quality issues with microphone and also had phone socket issues. But this philips one fits perfectly into the device and into my ears. The voice call clarity is really good for the price. It is not just the speakers; the micorphone is also very powerful and the listeners on the other side of the teleconf bridge often complimented that my voice is very clear. The music/bass quality is average; but that is not my prime purpose. The build quality is appropriate for it's price. It is not very solidly built; the cord is very thin - but just does the job required. It would have been nice if Philips gave following features to this headset 1) a clip for snapping the microphone to the shirt collar most of the voice disturbances problems are related to moving/shaking microphones I reused the clip from one of my older headsets and it fits ok 2) a box/case for winding and storing the headset 3) volume control; though it is not a must have

Best thing you can buy for this price !

Great performance ! totally worth it. Also if you are into tech-specs, they are better than any of the closest competitors (including skull-candy and Sennheiser).

Value for money Good

Really a good purchase. Bass is awesome. Sound quality is perfect. Wire length is also perfect, availability of different sized ear buds is complementary. Conclusion: Recommendable product, Happy to buy.
