Be sure of which WD drive you buy...

Be sure of which drive you buy as there is a huge difference between this drive WD20EZRX, the WD20EARS and the other one WD20EURS.
The WD20EZRX seems to be the best of the lot, 64mb of cache is good and it is a fast drive for day to day work (even though its green and not a 7200rpm). Power usage is also good.
The WD20EURS are effectively the standard WD20EARS drives with TLER set to 0 - ie the controller will give up trying to correct an error instantly, unlike a normal drive that will keep trying for many seconds before it gives up.
When recording video or TV you want an WD20EURS that will just record whatever you throw at it, and keep going even if it misses a byte or two. An error in a couple of bytes just causes a small corruption in the video.
However if you store important files, a single byte error could corrupt everything. In that case, buy this drive, WD20EZRX.
By the way, this drive runs way more cooler than the Seagates if you are considering using it in a tight enclosed cabinet with less Airflow.
Poor packaging - Dead on arrival

A dead on arrival product. The packaging was so poor that a SATA harddisk was packed in only a bubble paper without any cardboard cover. The disk was not detecting and making some noises inside. I was shocked to feel the metal pieces while holding the parcel and imagine how these courier fellows handle these things in a set of other boxes. This means that the PCB was almost exposed with a bubble paper. Poor Western Digital company, they will bear this brunt of poor handling by Flipkart.
The product was actually sold by a seller named "BuyMore". However, when I received the invoice, it was listed as "Counfreedise.com". Flipkart answered that "Counfreedise.com" is the legal name of "BuyMore. When I asked for a replacement or a refund Flipkart team and the BuyMore team has rejected it peacefully. So I do not understand what is the Flipkart guarantee here.
The flipkart dispute resolution team was also unable to help here. I feel Flipkart no longer believes that "Customer is the King" policy, whereas I feel it is "Seller is the King".
After all the noises and delay, Flipkart agreed to take the faulty product back and refund the amount. Thank you Flipkart, it should have happened much early and I would have been happy to get a replacement. You would need to rework on the objectives with your dispute management team.
Performance WAAY beyond expectations.

After doing quite a bit of search for a cheap yet performing 2TB HDD, finally got my hands on this.
Was confused between Seagate and WD Green Caviar, but former's tranfer rates are way lesser than later and fixed 5900rpm.
I was copying 162GB of files to the HDD for the first time, and i was getting 82-100 MB/s write speeds which i think is awesome.
so 5/5 for the product... \m/
GOOD DRIVE

I placed the order for this drive on 11 June 2012 @ Rs 6696/-and received the HDD on 12th June 2012.FLIPKART ROCKS!!!. NONE OF THE VENDORS AT SP ROAD IN BANGALORE WERE READY TO SELL AT THAT RATE!!. The primary reason why i purchased this drive was because of the 2 TB size and the minor (Rs1300) price difference between 1TB and 2 TB Drives.
BUT THERE IS SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER BEFORE BUYING THIS DRIVE.
THIS PARTICULAR DRIVE HAS SOMETHING CALLED "Advanced Format (AF) Technology". Those who are not so familiar with this one will have problems with installing it as extended partition for your Already existing Primary HDD.You have to download and install software from WD's Site and prepare your System for formatting this new HDD for using along with your present System.The documentation for the same is not that good.
At first, i didn't take care of this aspect and i found that the transfer speeds are too low (Even Teraacopy couldn't help!!!). I checked the site and found that "Advanced Format (AF) technology" had to be used so that the HDD works with its full throughput.Luckily for me, i hadn't transferred much data before i found this out.
I AM FULLY SATISFIED WITH THIS DRIVE'S PERFORMANCE.
IF YOU WANT A LOT OF STORAGE SPACE FOR APPLICATION SOFTWARES, GAMING IMAGE FILES, STUDY MATERIALS, MP3s, MUSIC VIDEOS, MOVIES ETC(THE LIST GOES ON) .....SIMPLY GO AHEAD AND BUY THIS ONE.

i bought many pieces till last month,
never expected this 150% price boost in storage sector.
but WD WD20EARX is still tempting comparing other dumb hard disks.

Very good as a normal speed drive.

This is a normal drive, not hybrid or SSD. so don't expect it to perform like one. Its a 5400 RPM drive meaning its neither too slow or too fast. Its not a gaming drive to give fast I/O. Use SSD for that. These are very good and reliable secondary drives for mass storage. Also very silent. Being completely honest my desktop has bunch of fans and cooling system. I have 1 x 2TB WD20EARX and 2 x 2TB WD20EZRX (this product) in my desktop with windows 10 which has a Kingston 120GB SSD for OS.
Defective item, unsatisfactory packaging.

Drive was recognised by Bios but showed 0MB space. Diskpart could not see the drive at all. Called Amazon for replacement but I was late. Had to call westerndigital warranty. Got the drive replaced under warranty. Replacement worked fine. Item came in simple static proof cover and with two thermocol pieces for packaging. No cables, no warranty cards, no manuals, no nothing!
Not formatting properly. Have to go through a lot ...

Not formatting properly. first drive failed to initialize and now the partitions are in RAW format rendering the drive useless. Will try one last time to format drive in another PC and then RMA with WD. WD smart software is not useful either. Identifies this drive as well as other drives as IDE. Will post photos of test results soon.
Works well as a secondary drive

Nothing much to say but buy it only as a secondary drive for storing movies and music. Do not use this as your primary boot drive as it is too slow for this purpose. Use a SSD or a Blue/Black drive for that.
