This I got as a mistake order. I had used the old detachable model since 2 years without any problem. I used the old model for avg. 10 hrs per day.
Now, I decided to keep this new one. This is fast and silent too. No heat problem or usage difficulty.
Looks very simple. It is with 3 years warranty- till July 2015. Should-Can register online at seagate.
Comes with various international plug adapters and quite long power and usb cables.
The build in backup-dashboard software is very useful and is simple.
In all, this new one is just similar to its old leader just missing the detachable pannel... for me its the old one that wins my heart!

Carry huge data while travelling

This is the only 4TB portable external hard disk drive currently available in the market. This is such a useful thing to carry all your data while travelling. You need not worry about finding a power source for this HDD as it gets powered by the USB of your desktop/laptop computer. The only problem is as it is RAID0, if you lose data, you will lose entire data.

Do not buy this drive (STDA4000300) from India. It is available in the USA under a different designation STDA4000100. The reason is that the Indian version overheats and will fail soon. You'd be wasting your money on nothing more than an expensive paperweight. The US version is more efficient and sturdy and also Rs.7000 cheaper. Try getting from a reliable online retailer who will ship it here or get relatives/friends to buy it for you.

bought this on sale from US of A for my xbox one and it is phenomenal. it is a bit big and heavy and uses 2 usb ports but the capacity and speed is 2 times of most other high end portable drives available in the market. good for transferring and storing huge files. best drive I have bought till date

I have purchased two drive the one drive was not working and the other worked for 2 days and now showing storage of 140 Gb... I would recommend not to purcahse these drives, its been two days i have requested retrun but still no body contacted me regarding the return.... poor product, poor service. do not cheat your customers. Contact me asap i need the replacement for the same.
