It is my first rice cooker. So I could not compare with others. Only I can tell you will surely be amazed by its simplicity and its neat and clean functionality. I have bought it at Rs.2065 and I m very much satisfied and this price point. I wanted a non-stick and small yet elegant cooker and this what exactly I was looking for. It looks elegant. Comes with a Steam tray(extra) so that you can cook momo , idli , dhokla etc. It comes with a starch separator which is useful to keep extra starch bottom of the pan so that your rice will not be messed up with starch. Pros: 1. 500 watt and 17 mins for a 1 CUP of rice. For a single person its very quick. 2. Steam stray for making IDLI, MOMO, DHOKLA. 3. Non stick stray is very much easy to clean and it also makes sure no amount of rice will be stick with pan. 4. Extra Off-On switch on the body of the cooker for extra safety. 5. Starch Separator tray (Even u can use it on steamer). Cons: 1. I expected a transparent glass lid with this as I did not put much attention to the picture and it was not written in the description anywhere. I think it would have been useful if I can check the rice cooking from lid. 2. This is exactly not a con but I would like to tell it is fine for 2-3 people not more. Best for a bachelor like me. 3. As I got 10% OFF using my SBI Debit card, otherwise I would call it a bit costly. Believe me I m using it for 3 days and I m still amazing by this product. Put your rice and water (1:2) into the pot and plug it on. Thats it. I can challenge nothing is simpler than this. Buy this without any second thought.

Ideally I should give a zero rating. Within a day of usage, the inside container coating started peeling. I found out the address of the Phillips service center in Bangalore (Jayanagar 9th Block) and went there with the entire package. I asked for a replacement for the container and the service manager said he doesn't have stock. What was shocking, he said perhaps, we did not know how to wash the container and suggested that we have scratched it (just one day of usage). I had to remind him that I already have a 0.6 lit Phillips rice cooker purchased a year back direct from a dealer in Pune and it is still working fine. Finally he gave a time of 1 week for trying to get a replacement from Phillips. It is now past two weeks and the status is still unknown. The container would perhaps only cost a few hundred rupees - but Phillips service is just stinking.Really in double mind if On-line purchase is really worth it??
