Flipkart delivery was on time but part missing inside it
By Suprovat Sinhaon
Product is very good but work well with Windows 8/8.1. For Windows 7 it don't take the max resolution in VGA mode and no driver available for it. Flipkart delivery was really very fast but inside the box the power cord was missing.

Nice Product
By Nitin B Ron
Before I discuss the product, a word about Flipkart service - Excellent! They delivered in 2 days (standard delivery) and even refunded INR 600 since the product price had fallen by then. While this is common in the US, Flipkart is setting new standards of customer service in India. Way to go!!
Now about the monitor itself:
Build Quality: Very Good. You can say, its about 80% quality of an apple monitor (exterior). The glossy screen may be a problem if the monitor faces a window or light source. Highly reflective surface.
Display Quality: Pretty Good. Colors appear pretty good, but the INR 10k range of LG monitors have better color and contrast. Viewing angle does not compare to an IPS display, but frankly for a computer monitor extreme viewing angles are not that important.
There is no lag on normal usage, and I am yet to test it with some games.
Connectivity: Pretty good. But the connections are difficult to access. So frequent add/remove/modify may not be easy. You need to connect a USB cable to get the touch to work (this can be irritating if you have limited slots on your ultra book or are allergic to cables all over your desktop). This monitor also has a big (laptop like) AC adapter as well.
Touch; Pretty responsive. No visual lag. But don't get fooled into thinking that this can be an over sized tablet. Windows 8.1 touch is not as intuitive or gesture oriented as ios and android. Also the large screen results in unintended touches (palm, elbow, etc). The Win desktop interface can be cumbersome to use only with touch.
Having said that touch is pretty useful as an additional source of input alongside the keyboard and mouse.
Overall a good monitor to buy. But if you don't care for touch, you are better off with LG IPS monitors
FANTASTIC PRICE WORTHY

I have been using this monitor for over a month now.
So thought about writing a review about it and to clear some things up.
This monitor is absolutely brilliant.
First thing you will notice about this monitor is the colour reproduction and clarity. [ IPS ]
Or maybe the glossiness of the screen if you are not used to it.. ;)
For me that wasn't a problem at all. In fact i hate matte screens.
"VIRTUALLY Borderless"
I was a bit confused about this thing. Basically it means that you don't have a bezel to make it look ugly and you can't see any border around the screen when the monitor is off. But when you turn it on..border appears magically.. ;)
But that border is ultra slim. So no problem with that either.
Someone mentioned "It does not come with a power cable, so make sure you have a spare one lying around."
No idea what that was about. It comes with everything you need to power it.
And it comes with a VGA cable but no HDMI cable. So i ordered one with this purchase keeping in mind all the things i read about how much better HDMI is over VGA. But after using the monitor with both the cables i found NO DIFFERENCE in picture or text quality.
The only advantage you will have with HDMI is audio output (from the nowhere mentioned 3.5mm jack provided on the back side of this monitor)
So if you need audio out from the monitor then get one or just leave it.
Overall its the best monitor you get for what you pay.
Looks great turned on and looks even better when off.
The only negative thing is that the stand is stable but not sturdy. Some of the buyers mentioned that already.
I mean when I try to tilt the screen up or down I get some noises as if its about to break. So i don't do that very often.
But I guess we shouldn't complain about the small things when we are getting such a wonderful IPS monitor at this price point.
So over all..you can't get anything better..so go for it..
Hope this helped.. :)
Beautiful natural colors at an affordable price
By Barath Bushanon
My primary reason of buying this monitor is for multimedia, as i was tired of sticking onto my laptop's 15 inch poor quality screen..
I had high expectations of this monitor since the monitor was from DELL..
And i can definitely say i am not disappointed at all....
About IPS Panels....
Before buying this, i looked at other monitors at this price range(and below), their design was good and features offered were better than Dell...
But the one and only reason i went for this monitor is because of the "IPS" tag, as its supremacy over TN Panels are well known...
The colors produced by IPS panels, are more natural and lifelike, and also the viewing angles are great. I have a TN panel monitor of similar size in my office, and i find myself constantly adjusting it to get better visibility, and keep the content at the edges not getting grayed out..
People constantly complain that the response time of IPS panels are "slower" , this one has about 7ms.....I don't understand why 7ms is not sufficient !!
Maybe if you are playing a high definition game at around 120fps(a professional gamer ??) , you may face issues like ghosting...
But then again, if you have money to buy a graphics chip which drives games at 120fps, then surely your monitor would be of higher budget that this one, and you will certainly get other IPS panels with better response times...
But it makes no sense to complain about response times, since most movies and hd content are about 25 to 30 frames, and most games are around 60fps for a reasonably high budget gamer...
One can argue that TN panels give 2ms response time, but surely if your eyes can notice the difference between 2ms and 7ms, they can definitely notice the quality and viewing angle difference between
and IPS and a TN panel...
So take my advice and prefer an IPS panel over a TN, unless your budget is constrained...
Most manufaturers, don't mention that their monitors us TN panels..
But you can easily find out that a monitor is TN type, if it's response time is less than 5ms...
About the marketing scam in dynamic contrast ratio....
The only contrast which counts is the staic contrast, which is 1000:1 , in this model..which means the deepest black is 1000 times blacker than the brightest white the monitor can show
dynamic contrast , is calculated by reducing contrast of the white regions in relation with the dark regions...
This allows manufacturers to quote some high numbers like 12000000:1
Also the method of testing this number is not standardised, so each manufacturer can come up with his own number...
Just ignore this figure, completely
So coming to the DELL monitor...
What's inside of the DELL Box...
Monitor..
Stand column..
Stand Base...
VGA Cable (No HDMI)..
One CD with the user manual..
Power Adapter...
I was content with the packaging contents, although a HDMI cable would have been better instead of VGA cable, though VGA is more than sufficient if you plan on connecting
only your PC/Laptop
Build Quality...
Build is good..
The locking mechanism of the monitor and stand is outstanding....
Other reviewers complained that the monitor and stand are not sturdy....
It does appear so, when you shake the monitor rigorously...(But who does that ??)..Once you set it on a table, its as sturdy as any other monitor
The highlight of the monitor is its dark and thin bezel(frame) , it gives a fantastic effect that you are viewing the picture in a frameless manner..
Functioning...
I had a laptop, and i just got the monitor working, by just connecting the VGA cable, and did not face any driver issues at all(windows 7).
After i connected, i found myself struggling to adgust the color and saturation settings in windows 7 and the hardware monitor controls...But once i finished it the
picture from the IPS panel sprung to life...
At such a high resolution of 1080p , the text is small and hard to read..i fixed this problem by changing the windows text size to medium from samll...
I did have a spare hdmi cable, which i connected to the monitor, i did face some scaling issues which i had to correct in my graphic card settings(catalyst control centre)
I did run certain monitor tests, and found that the monitor represents more than 80% of the rgb color gamut, which is more than we need, and is amazing to see such quality
at this price point...
Also the brightness in this monitor is very high, i can never use more than 60% brightness and contrast without burning my eyes..
When the room is dark, i have to further turn down the brightness to around 20% for comfortable viewing...
Bad Stuff....
Monitor is quite glossy..
the bad thing is that, i have to turn the monitor away from my windows, and the tubelight to the interference...
The interference is manageable, when you do your normal desktop activity, and watch movies which have bright colors, but is not ok when the movies have dark scenes(blacks) in them...
Thats it...
Have a great viewing ahead....
Wan to buy a monitor?
By Abhilash Rejanairon
Let me tell you something, people. This monitor takes your a$$ from you, and hands it over to you on a silver platter.
If you still didn't understand the nature of this review, it is positive. Extremely positive.
The display is a 21.5 inch of pure awesomeness. At the first glance, you aren't able to the orders of the top and sides of the monitor. But when you switch it on, there are borders.
This monitor is extremely slim. Almost as much as that of a Macintosh computer. Not only does this monitor receive your appreciation, but will also receive the appreciation of anyone who looks at your computer.
Despite having an octa core processor, 1 TB hard disk, and a graphic card that will put crysis 3 to shame, I am more proud of this display than everything else.
There may be displays with better specs, bigger sizes, at this price range, but I kid you not, when I tell you, this is my best money ever spent buying something from flipkart.
Just don't read any further. Just.. Stop. Go buy.
Good monitor, but could have been better
By Koi Kahinon
I had originally ordered the insanely popular ST2220L. Then I saw this one. This, as it seemed from the dell site, was a 2013 monitor with a IPS display. There weren't many reviews about it (and from what I remember it had only one on this site), but the word IPS stuck with me. Further, the ST2220L was already pretty old. So I thought, what the heck, and took the plunge. I cancelled the previous order and got this one instead.
When this monitor arrived, I was surprised at the quality of packing by flipkart (good job guys), and how soon it got delivered to my doorstep (good job again). But honestly, at the first look, I got disappointed. I took the monitor out and looked at it, and I saw a very clear reflection of myself. As if looking into a very dark mirror.
After I plugged it in, I was relieved to see the quality of the display: simply beautiful, bright, vivid and awesome rendition of colors. Ok, I agree, I am no expert at displays. I've been starting at laptop monitors and a 19' one at office. But this, by some arbitrary subjective judgement, was absolutely a delight. I am an (amateurish) photographer myself. So I wanted a display with very good color reproduction. Of the few tests I did online, this monitor does come fairly close in that aspect too.
So, in short, here is the review: beautiful screen with very good contrast and color reproduction, but extremely glossy. I am torn at giving it 3 stars or 4. From the technical specifications, and given the cost this certainly deserves a 5. But then what's the point of all of that if the monitor is so absolutely reflective? I mean, it is so glassy that in my unlit room if my naked eyes are able to see something, I CAN SEE the reflection of the same on the screen too! In an unlit room!!
Anyway, I'll go with 4 stars. If I could, I'd return this monitor for the simple reason that I spend a big part of my day looking at one, and this monitor isn't good for my eyes.
But mind you, all good monitors I've seen which produce mind blowing pictures come with glossy displays. So maybe there is a technical reason for it. So the choice of whether to go for this or not should basically boil down to a simple yes or no answer to whether you can tolerate glossy displays or not. If you don't work long hours in front of a display, or are fine with a glossy screen, GO FOR IT. Otherwise, go check out in a store first before purchasing this.
