With Jio services - might not be a perfect choice
By Anoop T.on
Many would be buying this to get connectivity in remote areas using 4G/3G wireless broadband. Before doing so, please do research on the frequency bands used by your service provider and the device you will be using.Reliance Jio uses Bands 3(1800MHz FDD), 5(850MHz FDD) and 40(2300MHz TDD). Band 40 provides better bandwidth and band 5 provides coverage in remote/rural areas as well as indoors where higher frequency signals cannot penetrate.Unfortunately, MR200 does not support Band 5, and that means poor 4G coverage when using Reliance Jio indoors with this device. Someone mentioned JioFi device heats up on extended usage and battery bulge happened. To avoid these problems, the JioFi device can be run without the battery. And it supports the three frequency bands supported by Jio as well. So if you are buying this device for Jio services, please check feasibility before putting your money on this.
Excellent product
By DIGANTA KUMAR DASon
Product is very very easy to install. No hassles at all. Just inserted my jio sim and it started instantly . But product signal range is good only up to 2 rooms nearby and may be that's it's capacity . The internet is fast and no drop even at lowest signal at faraway room. Best part is that I don't need a dongle .
Supports failover mode only. No Load balancing.
By VJon
Would have been more usefull if the router supports Load Balancing mode using the 3G/4G dongle. Supports only Failover mode. Otherwise, it is comparable to Dlink DWR 116. Detected all my dongles (iBall 3.5 Connect, Huawei E3372 and Micromax 444L).
Good product with some issues
By DEEPAK JAINon
Works goodI used to have d link dir-605 2.4 ghz router for 4 years.for my 100mbps connection of ACT in hyderabad, i used to get only 50 mbps.Did my reasearch i found out that i need to upgrade my router to dual band router with both 2.4ghz and 5 ghz bandsSo, i finalized this router with lot of research and here is my experience.1. Now i am getting upto 94 mbps on 5 ghz band for my 100mbps connection2. If you are behind 1 wall then the signal for 5ghz falls down to towers and falls considerable in bathroom. Signal for 2.4 ghz remained same as before as with d link router, Definitely better than 5 ghz band3. Its a little costly at 2700 Rs.4. It is better than the 5 antenna model tp link C6 AC 1350 router.. As this has 3 antenna with both bands 2.4ghz and 5 ghz.. However c60 ac 1350 has 2 antenna of 5 ghz and 3 antennas of 2.4 ghz. Hence it can be derived that mr 3620 will have better coverage with 5 hz than c60 ac1350 model.5. Speeds in 2.4 ghz band has increwswd to upto 70 mbps with thia model over d link dir 605.Overall happy with performance as my house is only 1100sqft with 2 bedrooms.
Its a nice router!!

USB Dongle Router for me
By Nitin Arnold Victoron
In the beginning, I was looking for a way to share the internet from a USB Dongle (which i used for my laptop..) with my new android phone.
I tried ICS and various other 'hotspot' softwares to let my laptop share the internet connection with my phone through WiFi, but it all failed because the Wireless Device in my laptop didn't have that functionality (probably).
So, this was the need which led me to go search for a usb dongle supporting router. I was still hesitant because I knew that my dongle does not run Internet on 3g but 2g and the products I found on the internet (including TL-MR3420) had 3G/4G written on them.
But TL-MR3420 is working fine with my Photon+ 2G Connection.
Now about the product:
It is an excellent product. I've had no issues with it at all. I did not find any flaw.
TP-Link is good because its website shows you the supported dongle types. So you can confirm if your dongle will work or not.
It also has a WAN Port where you can attach your ADSL or Cable modem. And 4 LAN slots to attach PCs through LAN Cables.
I have another product TL-MR3220. I needed to buy it for my computer training centre.
I tried to experiment a little, and connected my Photon Dongle to my TL-MR3220 and fixed a LAN Cable to one of its LAN Slots(output) and the other end to TL-MR3420's WAN Slot(input).
I changed the setting in TL-MR3420 to "WAN preferred and 3g as backup" mode. And guess what! It was sharing internet from the other TP-Link through its WiFi.
Now I can have one TP-Link in my workplace and a 300ft LAN Cable connecting it from there to the other TP-Link at home (great distance apart). And I can have just one Internet Dongle for both home and office.
I hope this review would be informative to people who have a lot of questions running in their mind when deciding to buy a product.
My need was different... And TP-Link solved it perfectly...
good product for cheap price
By Rajaguruon
I ordered this product 29 days back. I thought I should share feedback for other buyers. After a bit of research I bought this Router, because this is the best suited for my requirement, which should be almost the same for every one.
1) use all(atleast most of them) 3G/4G data card without any problem. And the firm ware should be updated often to keep adding new 3G dongle hardware.
- I checked among other products, DLINK etc., compared with the 3G dongle that it supports with others. TLink supports almost everything and every network. Dlink supports only the 3G dongle of its make. Others again the same and its very costly.
- I use tata photon + and its working like magic. Installation, just plug go to 3G section select the network save and connect thats it. And thats for one time.
- when I bought this product, I could see there is a firmware to update with latest 3g/4g dongles. I am hoping they will keep updating going forward too. You can check the dongles supported in their website.
2) I wanted to connect to regular modem(any) for internet connection. Note: This doesn't have ADSL modem. Again that was my requirement as I want to keep modem out of router, because the router technology will keep varying, initially it was ADSL now its ADSL2.0. In future will get internet connection thru cable like tata sky etc.,
3) I wanted 300 mbps speed, because i might play HD movies from my laptop to my TV thru wireless, but for ppl with less speed you can use TP-LINK TL-MR3220.
4) No dropping of connections.
- This i could check after delivery. For both 3g only option and also WAN only option there are no drops in connections. I cannot check with the option of 3g preferred over Wan and WAN preferred over 3G, because I use tikona broadband, and for which the authentication happens over browser. So this will not work.
5) less heat.
absolutely very less heat over the box. May be because of the new design.
6) wall mountable. - yes wall mountable.
Flipkart delivered in 6 days, unlike the other products in 2 days, but that was clearly mention before ordering and also after ordering the product.
So regrets on that one too, as it was on time. But now are are getting in 2-3 days.
update on 12 march 2013:::
NOTE: AFTER almost 3+ mths of continuous use, i am not finding even a sngle problem.
NOTE BUY 3G/4G router not 3G/3.7G ROUTER. Flipkart keeps changing the boxex, because both have same product code. 3G/4G is the latest model.
update on 24 Jan 2014:::
Still going good, Now my usage goes 24hrs a day, hardly I switch off, sometimes it goes for weeks without switching off. Still I use broadband as tikona, and very few times i use photon plus.

Product not compatible with Airtel 4G dongle (ZTE MF825A)
By Prakash Panthamon
This product is not compatible with Airtel's 4G (LTE) USB dongle ZTE MF825A).
I have seen many online posting about this issue, and I guess Airtel is not very forthcoming about the settings related to this product. TP-Link is finding it difficult to provide a solution as they are also not getting much support from Airtel.
And airtel is out of stock of wifi routers for over a month now.
What a monopolistic market for Airtel!!!!!!!!
Works well for Airtel 4G dongle
By Ramakrishna Shenaion
Setup for a friend this router. Worked out of the box with the Airtel 4G LTE Dongle (Huwaei 392) without any tweaks/firmware or modem bin files updates. I have placed the router hanging from the ceiling with power cord attached to a bulb holder. This way the wireless waves would not have to travel through walls to reach the other rooms in the flat.
Speedtest.net test with and without the router show similar results so it is not adding any noticeable overhead.
